uhm, quality sucks? vlc is kinda heavy download but it's a slick, good looking free player which comes with all codecs installed already.

besides that you just wanna play a dvd...

Good looking? It's the ugliest player I've seen yet.

Though quality wise it is a great player, since it plays almost anything without the need for codecs.

VLC is good, but there are too many bugs in it, IMO.

For example, with the latest version, sometimes when im using the new skin i can't fast forward or move to a selected part of the film (moving that slider bar thingy over).

that's why i rpefer to just use media player classic when i can...much simpler.

I prefer VLC to play my video files. MPC is very light on resources and if you like neither you can just install needed codecs and play files in player of your choice if you don't like VLC which I think would be best as you don't have to mess with installing codecs and stuff (it comes in the package).

Zoom Player is good also. There is a fee version of it, but I don't know if it will meet your needs. www.inmatrix.com
