LOC Veteran Posted July 21, 2004 Veteran Share Posted July 21, 2004 I just emailed myself a 1 meg picture and a 11.3 meg mp3, both worked fine and dandy. I also still show 1% of 2000MB used. If it was still 2MB or even 250MB I'd have seen that percentage move a tad :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/193061-a-new-2gb-mailmsn/page/7/#findComment-2532636 Share on other sites
trigger_my_passion
MSN Premium accounts with @msn.com .NET Passport can use the following server:POP3: pop3.email.msn.com SMTP: smtp.email.msn.com Need to tick "SPA" in Outlook Express and Microsoft Office Outlook. Can this 2GB @msn.com also? tried using these settings for the 2 GB msn account I created today, but POP3 server type doesn't work. had to choose server type as HTTP to access the account via MS Outlook 2003. embj
I'm still not upgraded yet and I've got MSN Premium. And no...I don't pay for MSN. I get it for free because I'm a beta tester. 20mb attachments will be nice. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/193061-a-new-2gb-mailmsn/page/7/#findComment-2533722 Share on other sites

tkyoshi
So no pop3? Well i always understood that when i migrated to the new MSN 8 from the old MSN 2.:p:p that pop3 would be disabled and i won't be able to use it anymore. However if they do bring it back it's probably just for old MSN accounts or paying customers as it is a different server. DaCypher
Is there a way to login to the MSN account via Trillian? I can login with the windows messenger but I can't with Trillian (says password incorrect). Maybe the two programs use different servers? Not Quite Right
So no pop3? No pop3 , but it can still be set up to work with Outlook, and O.E...:yes:s: How to Configure Outlook with an MSN Web-based Account Use the following steps to configure Outlook 2002 with an MSN Web-based: Click Start , point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click the Mail icon. Click E-mail Accounts. Click to select Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next. Click to select HTTP, and then click Next. Type the following setting information: In the Your Name box: type you name as you want it to appear to recipients. In the E-mail Address box: type your e-mail address, for example, myemail@msn.com. (Notice that the HTTP Mail Service Provider setting automatically switches to MSN from Hotmail when you exit the e-mail address box) In the User Name box: type your MSN account name. In the Password box: enter your password if you want to save it. In the Remember password box: click to select if you want to have your password saved. Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): do not click to select this check box. Click More Settings. Configure the Connection tab, as needed. Click OK. Click Next, and then click Finish. Your MSN Web-based Inbox now appears in the Outlook Bar and the Folder List.
