one thing no one has really hit on when talking about relocation is realignment. washington/northern virginia makes the most sense in that aspect.. because the Expos can stay in the NL East.. technically they could stay in the NL East if they moved to Las Vegas, but that would cause all kind of troubles with the time zones like how it was back when Atlanta used to be in the NL West. There have been talks of the Athletics moving again.. if that happened, they could move to portland or las vegas and stay in the AL West and all would be well.

On a side note, i dont think a major league team should ever be put in Las Vegas. most everyone there is a tourist, and only there to gamble. this means low season ticket sales. If the team is winning, then yeah, the tourists will go see the games. But not too many people are going to leave the casinos and shows on the strip to go see a mediocre baseball team. Las Vegas isnt even supporting its AAA team very well .. look at this Attendance Report .

Washington is the best fit for the Expos. Peter Angelos doesn't really have anything to worry about, the orioles will be fine. Wonder if they'll be named the Senators for a 3rd time?

i dunno. my county has been one of the fastest growing counties in the country. they are working on making a freeway out of route 28 by adding overpasses and all that... but this seriously would kill the entire area. it is not ready for something of this magnatude.

they tried once to put a horse track up and it got voted against.

if i have any say in wether or not the team comes here, i vote NO.

Anyone want that team ?

It looks like MLB is doing everything to have them gone from Montreal.

Most traveling team (road games, home games and Puerto Rico games...How can you play well under theese conditions) ;

Put a losing coach to manage them ;

Got Vlad off the team ;

No local player or someone we can recognise ourself in ;

Team owned by the league (nowhere else this would be tolerate) ;

And so the list goes...

Anyways, professional sports get rotten in any major sports.

That MLB management stinks from long ago in Montreal.

Have them...we don't need'em no more !!!

It's getting ridiculous.....

I dunno about DC.. but I do think the expo's need a relocation and it wouldn't hurt to move the Blue Jays and the Raptors too. ;) Nothing against Canada but U.S. sports teams (baseball & basketball) there suck. That's why the Grizzlies didn't last but for a few years. :( All the players play like crap so they can get traded back to teams in the U.S. LOL!!

unless they started to win titles.

They may just start, once they start getting the media coverage. The only reason anyone heard of the Expos before was becasue of the 1 or 2 superstars they may have had. The rest of today's teams should thank them for the talent scouts. As soon as we couldn't afford them, they went to a US team and got recognised, and paid for the job.

Yeah they have been mulling over this for a long time now. I am surprised to see all the interest again. They were proposing to put the stadium at one time next to the Pentagon City mall...I was like you kidding me!! I would never be able to see that happening. There just didn't seem to be enough room. Now it was right on the metro line, but still....whew!

Oh yeah, the Orioles are all piffed now because they are afraid their ticket sales will go down. The problem is, you can't get to an Orioles game unless it is on the weekend! The game starts at 7, well unless you leave (to make a < 60 mile trip) you won't make it until the 2rd or 3rd inning!

The Expos should stay in Montr?al. MLB should've invested in the team by resigning key players such as Vladimir Guerrero. A competitive team would be much more valuable than a cellar dweller. Fans in Montr?al are still bitter about the '94 strike when the Expos had the best record in baseball, and seemed headed towards their first payoff appearance since 1981, and their first World Series. Had they been able to build a stadium downtown a few years ago, then they may not be in the position they are in now. The Big O is simply a big, ugly money pit, with a (permanently closed) retractable roofI have been an Expos fan since 1977b>, but if they become the Washington Senators, then I might be looking for a new team.
