I need pop-up blocker...

Question

What I really liked about SP2, when I installed it this morning, was the Internet Explorer integrated pop-up blocker. It blocked literally EVERY pop-up and the only way to have one open was with the CRTL key. I liked this a lot.

I had to uninstall SP2 because of some stupid lag problem with my mouse, so now I come here to ask if there is a pop-up blocker just like the one that comes on Internet Explorer SP2?

MSN Toolbar

with my security settings and this pop up blocker, nothing gets through.

sites on the "internet zone" and "restricted sites zone" do not throw pop ups because my settings dont allow them to.

sites on my "trusted sites zone" do throw pop ups sometimes, but this blocks all of them.

Run mozilla or firefox......both have built in pop up blockers.....

Or just wait a few weeks til SP2 comes out, they have one built in.

Sorry, but Firefox is crap for me. I've been getting really frusterated with it. I used to LOVE Firefox, but then I started noticing a lot of pop-ups getting through it, and FireFox would use multiple browsers when I wouldn't want it to, and when I'd use an extension for it to use only ONE browser, the ads and pop-ups would resize the browser makign it really small. And oh god, what a headache. Bye bye Firefox, and good riddance.

Man! Thank you Bletchley! I've been using Proxomitron with jd5000's config set. I'm glad I'm not the first one to mention it. There is no free or pay-for blocker that even comes close. JD5000's config set makes it even easier to use for noob's.

Plus, it works with any browser. I can use that (program) only, and not worry about ActiveX crap and popups, spyware, etc. with just one app. Using that app alone is some of the best preventive maintenance anyone can arm themselves with. (Especially if you are going the IE route)

Firefox's is ok for your basic stuff, but I still use Proxomitron with it to filter out ads. Adblock for Firefox isn't even close.

If anyone wants to try some suggestions for some browser lockdown settings and free apps (some already mentioned here) visit 2 of my forum topics on my site just for a quick reference guide.

I just didn't want to retype everything since I already had it on my forum.

Maybe it'll help someone.
