Steven
At the time that the board was manufactured Intel only produced a Max of 1.5GHz. So when ASUS goes to put the board in the box they label it "MAX 1.5GHz" just to be "on the safe side"...... However: The fastest Pentium 4 that uses Socket 423 is a 2.0GHz. Update your BIOS and your system will have support for such a cpu. Steven
put it this way. YOu already have BIOS 1005 which gives you support for a 2.0GHz CPU. Updating to 1007 is your option. You can try again... or just forget about it ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/198176-intel-pentium-4-1800-mhz/#findComment-584287614 Share on other sites
