I posted a comment to the front page story, but figured I'd post it here too. The actual ad refers you to suprnova.com, which is NOT suprnova.org. The .ORG site is the one that most use. The .COM and .NET sites are mere copies that people have posted to try to leech upon the popularity of the original. If you try to use the .com/.net sites, you will find that they ask for credit card information.

Good call.

I'm still not letting my kid use Neowin anymore because of those horrible horrible ads!

...actually, I am no where close to have a kid...but I am still outraged!.....actually, it's kind of funny.

one word, warzaphobia. it did it again. it caused an entire topic and news post. get over it move on with life. go out and smell the daffidills(well i guess that last one shouldn't be there, but still)

The majority of us are just laughing at what had happened. I'm pretty sure a forum is a place for people to have discussions and that is what is going on here. You think we are all freaking out about this. No, we are just laughing at it. Move on with life...who should move on...the people having a conversation or the person butting in telling them to get over it?

Im sure google couldn't have reviewed the site properly to determine its illigal - lets bear in mind its a computer that trawls the data, and not a real person. Even if it was a real person they wouldnt get past the 1st page without paying and im sure even google doesnt want to pay to view every site they need to review.

Lets hope google get forced to disclose the bank account of the individual that opened the adsense account and their account can be frozen so these suprnova ripoffs finally dissapear.

you are all getting hyped over nothing. THE LINK IS TO SUPRNOVA.COM, unless you have subscribed to it you cant tell me if its illegal or not. just because the url starts with suprnova doesnt mean its warez... granted it most definately is but you guys need to chill. suprnova.com is a company and it can advertise with google if it wants.

Google has already proved that it can't control what their bot comes up with. Remember when they removed all of the kazaa lite links? How long did that last? I'm not sure they should try to censor their search links. As long as I can find crackz, warez, and porno on google, I know that they aren't filtering anything else out either. I refer you to the way msn search filters out linux.

What do you mean MSN search filters out linux.

I think it's just the fact that MSN suck and it can't come up with releveant results, MSN isn't filtering out linux.

Yes, down with the horrible Suprnova ripoffs! Although it might not be a horrible idea to have some manner of..say..pay torrent site that has a contract with game retailers to offer their games online through torrents.. If they had the bandwidth to make it a lot faster than current torrents. I'd pay my 49.99 via credit card for a few good seeds to turn it from 3days into 12 hours. Methinks I should go into business! HAHA! I'll be rich! or not..
