XP Reboots

Recommended Posts

Last night, I was browsing with Firefox. I had two tabs, Outlook Express, and Notepad open. While browsing, my computer just shut down and restarted. I thought that maybe I had BSODed and SP2 had reset my setting to auto restart on error. I checked and I have Automatically Restart unchecked. I continued to use my machine with no other issues, until this evening. I was playing Doom with one program running in the background. Again, the machine just stopped and restarted, no errors. All temps look fine and I have an Antec True480 power supply. I did check the Event Viewer and noticed and entry that says Save Dump. I looked at the dump file, but it looked like a lot of gibberish. I see to have had some kind of error, but it is not Blue Screening. This has just started happening and I have just installed SP2. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help.

This is what puzzled me too. There is an entry in the Event Viewer saying that the dump was saved like there was going to be a stop message, but it just restarts. Right after it happened last night, I played Doom for about three hours with two programs running and no problems.

I'm bumping this again because my machine has rebooted again. I have attached a screenshot of what the Event Viewer showed. Can anyone decipher what this is? Again, thanks.
