If your in school why did you bother to start this project? Now you have some people depending on you for this, but your telling us its coming soon......and we don't really know if it is. Please don't start a project if you can't finish it.

Indeed.... it's been a year and all that has been released is a GUI.... kind of disappointing. Plus he suddenly joined in that Nexus project.

I'd say if you can't even finish one project then what are you doing joining another....

How is the project giong?

Is there a Final Release?

And will FlashGot support this is the future?

@ Tem: I even do not know why I have started this... A while, it was interesting for me... Earlier, as I have started the thread, I thought it would not be such a hard task, as me, I was a "noob" in coding, well, I had ideas, and understood all of it, but I need time to learn.

@ Schmoove: Yea, I have joined the Nexus project, and coded a library for it, I do not know why Lee is not using it yet... But I would say Nexus is an other thing, I had the lib in 1 hour done. So, it is not the problem.

@ Birger_Nord: How is the project going... I had no internet for one week (out of traffic), so I had nothing to do, and then (in fact, I wonder myself about) I have started coding the download engine (from scratch), since I have learned some new stuff, and it would be more effective to use it... The download engine can about all the things now, it is thread-based.

Name of download manager has changed in "Librey" and I think to publish a beta of the download engine, where you can check over the main functions... as:

- Start download :p

- Pause download :)

- Resume download... etc,

I have still to code some functions, for example, get the speed of the download and get the time which is left during the download process. :)

I will report, when I have got my traffic back :( ;).

Peace

Ok herewith, I'm releasing the first beta of the download engine to the neowin community.

In the package are 2 files.

- LibDebug.exe

- LibKernel.dll

The current (v. 050705) download engine can:

- Start Download

- Pause Download

- Resume Download

- Cancel Download (when ya exit the application)

- Get the downloaded size

- Get the source file size

I'll update the first post with the TODO list, etc.

Please if you found a bug, report about it.

Thank you.

Download from HQFW.org

After you start the application, you must provide the URL of the download file and the path where it should be downloaded in.

For example, I'm providing download URL, so you have to search less.

maybe put a drop down arrow on the destination section.? I found a bug.? If you download the same file, it of course says their is already one, but if you do that like 3 times in a row, it crashs

What do you mean with the 'drop down arrow' .. you mean the drag 'n' drop feature?

Yea, I've already noticed this bu:):) Gonna fix it tomorrow, also found some more bugs with a help of my frien:):) Think about release a new build this week.

Thank ya th;);)

I found another bug, but cant remember, i was pausing it, resume etc, then i had an error, and it couldnt continue downloading. I mean in the destination part, you should be able to look through what folder you want it to go to. I mean so when you click on an arrow on the destination folder, folders should drop down, like my documents etc

Ahhh :) I see now, yea, it will be there ;).

About the bug, maybe could you please re-produce it somehow, or pass me the steps over, so I could test it myself. :)

The last error saxondale. reported is due to the inexistence of error handling... I've experienced that one.

It's like you want to pause a file that isn't downloading. Or resume something that's has finished downloading. It throws an exception. ;)

Awwww :) This one ;)... True, there is no error handling in Beta 1.

Nice, maybe you could add a canel option on the UI, so you don't have to close it and open it again to start other download... :)

Will do it, I think about bringing out today a small update. :)

Oh by the way, if you, dear testern, have found out, you can already start more than 1 download at a time, but the status will be shown only for one.

Ok... Summary for now.

I'm coding some events for the download engine ... e.g. OnStart, OnFinish, etc :)

Due this change, I don't think the new build will reach "the light" today.

Sorry again, I must correct myself, it may be released today :) (the new build)

Edited by RusDzanmahmudov

Sorry, no... No proxy support yet :/

The school was boring today, so I nothing todo... In a lesson, I've looked over of the structure of the download engine.. What I found out, I could optimize it in so ways... :) We will see... Theoretical -- new build today :)

RusDzanmahmudov your still alive then :p.... Anyway good luck on any new features that you might be introducing to this programe

Thank ya :)

See the 1st Post...

Ok, herewith I am releasing the Beta 1.x

Main changes in this version are:

- Updated Codebase

- Changes in the Executable's UI

I have figured out how to get the download speed and the download time left... Those features will be able in the next build, also I've started intergrating error handling from this build. :)

There will be also a second codebase update, I think... In the next beta build. Probably will be released during this or the next week.

Due the new codebase, I cann't get the already downloaded size. It will be fixed in the next build.
