Note: Downloading Engine is about to be done...

In the Beta1 release (version 1.0.300.0) won't be following feature(s):

- Download files from servers, which require authentication.

- Split file.

- Maybe the sorting function. :/ ... I dont know about this, lets see.

Damn damn damn...

OK, following problem:

I cannt get how to serialize the 'Download.xml' file :( argh... me noob :p

Plus, today halloween... Every night I code the application, or trying to do something with it, but cannt get this THING done... argh...

So, cannt promise a release today... BUT IT SHOULD BE THERE IS SOME DAYS!

Please, dont be mad at me. It's my bad... The Downloading engine is done (to 87%), but I dont know, how to serialize the file. Sorry. Please.

Gimme time... in the next 3-4 days.

... Thank you :).

But I'm really "down" now :(. I was so hoping to get it done by today, I was coding, designing till 5am :sleep: , giving some builds to betatesters... :/ so sad. Cann't serialize the damn 'Download.xml' file... It's like blackout :dontgetit:.

Thanks to my friend, Whitelighter, he has just provided some references about serialize funtion :) I'm taking a look, and continue developing... 3am here...

On tuesday I've job. (2 weeks) It's like wake up 7am, come back 5pm... Lets see.

It sounds like there's a lot of new stuff you're adding in this build and we're all looking forward to it.

Just remember: Take your time and release when you feel happy with its state. Don't listen to anyone asking you to hurry up.

If we were paying you for your work then we could demand something :)

I have several questions on this... dont know if they've been answered yet or not... not enough time to view 21 pages... lol

1) Will this support Batch Downloading?

2) Will it support multi-server downloading of same file?

3) How does it compare to Free Download Manager?

(what does it have that FDM doesn't)

I just got FDM before I read this post (total coincidence) and I like it a lot.

Not exactly the most effecient piece of software evr but pretty darn nice.

@Vice King: Thank you :)

@greg098: Thank you also :)

@GBUASH: Thank you for your interests...

Here the answers on your questions:

- Batch Download support...

If you mean, like, you just start DM, then just type the URL and download the file without starting the browser, then the answer is: "Yes, it's already there."

- Multi-sever support...

No, not yet. The best thing I can do in later releases, is, try to download a file through splitting in some parts from one source.

- Compare to Free Download Manager...

Well, in fact, I'm trying to develop a standart version of Download Manager, after, improve it, since I dont use Free Download Manager, I cannt say you, what is different, but I can tell you two key features, which I'm sure will come:

=> Group your files. Like, if you download a file e.g. with extention .avi, you wanna put it in the directory, where your movies are, so you can just create in DM a file group, specify directory, and all other things will Download Manager do for you. Like e.g. recognize the file type...

=> Save your authentication data in Download Manager. If you download a file from a server, which requires authentication, just save the data in Download Manager, DM will recognize the host, and after, automaticly use the credentials, you've entered.

@amoeba: heh :)

@minigun: Thank you :), and what do you mean as 'Anti leech' support. :s

Batch downloading meaning give the program a list of file URIs seperate by some character (newline, a sequence of newlines, spaces, commas, whatever -- Newline being the most common, I'd think). Then it would queue up all of them and begin downloading them like regular files.

well i dont know how to explain anti leech check out the site...

http://www.anti-leech.com/

its just away to protect the real location of files

there is only 1 compatible download manager "netpumper" and the free version comes with spyware... :o

im not sure its possible to do this though... i think u need to contact the people at anti leech to find out :no:

Basic, it seems anti-leech is a site that'll encrypt you HTML and store you images and use referer based things to do it.

Also seems to be an attempt at avoiding pop up and advertising blocking, along with that java script disabling stuff.

Basicly, the face is "Let's keep you content safe" while the idea is "Lets keep your visitors helpless"

I don't see exactly how it fits into download managers, except maybe in the case of referer checking.

We'll look at this feature later :)... I mean, now no time to do it.

Rus,

How interested would you be in selling your source code?
