Slipstreaming Windows XP Service Pack 2 & Boot CD!

Recommended Posts

Well Well Well....

Been a while since this thread was active.

However I have mad a few updates to my guide.

I am looking for a few volunteers who can help write up a part for the guide explaining to those who have OEM disks like Dell ones and run into the error when slipstreaming. If anyone has been able to successfully slipstream an OEM dell or other manufactueres disk please tell me as I would love to talk to you to help me write this part of the manual and full credit to yourself. Please note that even after a successfull slipstream the disk will not always work when trying to install for those who have done it with the oem dell disk. so im asking for those who have slipstreamed and been able to install 100% using an oem dell or other manufactuers disk.

http://www.pcuser.info/articles/slipstream_winxp_and_sp2/

I beleive the process involves removing a few files, however after this alot of people are having problems with a currupt file. if you have been able to pull this of successfully please post here.

Regards

Peter

could you do this for roxio...I have easy cd creator. I am not buying anything new since it fills all of my needs, so i intend to try this with the roxio software. I know, I know, I should have nero but not everyone is gets it with a new computer or is a techy. ( ;) no offense to the techies!) If you can make a try at it, I would be most thankful. :D

Actually Roxio Easy CD Creator is just as capable of performing this task as Nero Burning Rom is. I can write up a manual for this and make it an optional part of my current manual. However unfortunately something has happened to my hosting. I am seeking reliable hosting so that my manual can be hosted for free. If anyone is willing to donate web space please mention it here. The manual usually received around 1GIG of bandwidth in three or less weeks and uses less then 10MB of space at this point in time. :)

Do i need to change the serial when i slipstream xp and sp2 as my windows xp uses the FCKGW serial if so how do i do it

webferret, not to attack you, but many people know that part of serial number you have posted. Neowin does not allow those kind of questions in here. I saw that 1 of your posts was removed by a moderator, because it was a warez question, and if I'm wrong someone correct me plz. I'm just letting you know. Read the rules to understand them better.

Good luck!

I could host the site on my server. I have a Roadrunner cable connection with a Windows 2003 Server running a web/ftp server along with a few game servers. So that the manual is online most of the time my server would work for some free hosting. Upload speed is around 45 KB/s.

Get Autostreamer.exe. It is free and simple. Two clicks and the job gets done.

damn, slipstreaming SP2 using the link that

Nastrodamus posted is long as hell.

AutoStreamer will do the job. Like 6 clicks and ready to go (Y)

Glad to see the site is still working. Unfortunately I still have not been able to locate any free hosting for my article. If anyone knows of any really good free hosting, or knows a place that will host peoples articles or if you can donate some hosting please post here. Thanks very much. :D
