atomicski
I just got the Alpine 9833, the only thing I have a question on is the power. This head unit requires a 10ga wire going to the battery with a fuse. There is a box with a fues in it I think...how do I put a fuse in or do I need to? And how do I make the wire longer, just crimp it to another 10 ga?

legojerry
Most likely, if it already has a fuse box, it's already in it, or it came with one.. open it up and see if there is one. The best thing to do is just buy a cable, and get the 10 gauge fuse box... they're pretty cheap, available at most audio stores I would say. +orgitnized Subscriber¹ Posted August 31, 2004 Subscriber¹ Share Posted August 31, 2004 The "grey box" you have on there looks like it could be the fuse holder. I haven't installed that model in particular, but if that is the fuse holder, you'll be good to go. Just make sure a 10A fuse is in there!  They'll never give you more wire than you need. You can just crimp on another 10 gauge wire to the end of the one on the head unit and you'll be all set. You can use a quick disconnect or a butt connector, for starters. Soldering them together isn't a common practice, in case you were wondering - though it would work just fine. Just more trouble than it's worth. atomicski
actually it's a blue fuse that says 15. The manual says it is a 15a fuse....
