WMP 10 is Released

...which is fine for CD's that I rip in the future, but what about the 100's I've already ripped?

The album art filename which WMP10 generates seems to be unique, how can I add album art?

I already have a JPEG image called "Folder.jpg" in each of my album folders.

I have my player set to automatically fill in song information and all that. Almost every album I've listened to since installing WMP10 has magically had it's folder and album cover images created automatically. I dragged a folder of MP3s to one of my folders WMP was watching, and within about 30 seconds, all of the files had been renamed and moved to their proper location, and all of them had album art. Crazy.

 Anyone notice this:

When WMP10 is minimized to the taskbar none of the buttons work (stop, play, prev, next, mute, volume). Most are gray and the ones that are not (mute and volume) don't have any effect.

When you close WMP10 often it keeps playing. You have to shut down the process in the task manager.

Ok another dumb question...

I was playing around with the color settings, and decided to set it back to default. But the strangest thing happened. Instead of using green as the highlight text color (when you select a song, etc.) its turned to purple. :pinch:

There is nothing I can do to change the purple highlighted text, and its really starting to get on my nerves. Anybody know a fix for this?

Thanks in advance

Now The Comments .

First of all , ALL THE ONLINE STORES are available for US only due to the MSN Music Preview ( that is why not ALL your songs can display a picture inside the Bliss vis ... only those available in their database are shown ).

Here is some advice :

1. Change your regional settings to English - United States from Start - Control Panel - Date,Time,Language and Regional Settings - Regional and Language Options - Regional Options - Standards and Formats .

2. Have a working .NET Passport for MSN .

3. Use the TweakMP Powertoy to RESET ALL PLAYER's DEFAULTS (including the green colour text someone asked for) .

4. Please be patient with your internet connection ... allow some time for the artwork , the lyrics or the sond/cd title to download from the online database .

Take care .

it was a bug in one of the beta releases. fixed in final.

I've got a problem with the upgraded version:

In the Library, in WMP 9 I could open the right album by sorting by artists and then albums, and when I closed WMP, it would remember which album was open in the Library.

After the upgrade, if I close WMP 10, and I open it again and go to the Library, it has collapsed all the artist and album configuration and it has selected All Music instead of the last album I was playing.

Anyone noticed this? (... it's possible it could just be fixed by a reinstall or reboot, but I doubt it and I'm too lazy to try it cause I got lotsa stuff running right now)

Has anyone worked out how to get WMP 10 to keep expanded albums open after it is closed down. I have installed this on 3 of my machines and all are the same so it is not a bug.

So say for instance I played the John Mayer CD which is expanded then finish playing and close WMP. When I open it up again everything is collapsed. I am not alone in finding this frustrating as I leave my most played music expanded so my eye finds my favorite albums quickly.

I have seached every option in the config but cannot find anything.

Thanks for anyone with an answer.

Yeah.. You are still running the WMP 10 Technical Beta.

That issue was stated in an FAQ: http://www.shadowsillusion.com/wmp10faq/miniplayer-issue.htm

And as for your closing issue:

Uninstall the beta and download the final release. :)

Cheers!

Hey, i was wondering if anyone could help me, or is experiencing the same problem. I was just about to copy a CD and was waiting for windows media player to automatically get the album details.. after waiting a while i decided to try and find it manually and clicked on Find Album Info, after searching and finding the album i was looking for i pressed finsih... It said "updating your media library" as usual.. after that taking a while it came up with a message saying this service is currently unavaliable.

the attachment is a screeshot of the message

Is it just unavaliable or is there a problem at my end? Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

thanks

Skoty

I was seeing the WMP9 toolbar on the taskbar.

The WMP10 version didn't show up until I rebooted (and I did turn off the toolbar while installing).

Rebooting also solved the problem of WMP10 not shutting down properly.
