accessing @home e-mail behind router?

Well this is not really related to software that much, but its not hardware compatability :p .

Well anyways I bought an SMC 7004 router and I need to find the ip or hostname of the "mail" server. I currently have mail as incoming and outgoing server, but since it is located outside the network I cant access my e-mail :(. If someone has the ip for Vancouver, British Columbia, or if its just one server for @home could someone please tell me ?

Or you could just look at the hostname they assigned you (eg: cjxxxxxx-a.indpdnce1.mo.home.com) and remove the cjxxxxxx-a.indpdnce1 and replace with mail.rdc1 or mail1.rdc1 (eg: mail.rdc1.mo.home.com). Then ping the address to make sure it really exists.

It wasent one of those since hostname for shaw changed to shawcable.net, so for anybody living in Vancouver, BC its incoming and outgoing:

mail.vc.shawcable.net

actually you can use in other cities

mail.xx.shawcable.net

for shaw, just find your hostname something.city.shawcable.net and replace xx with city code.

zivan56 create a new email account on Shaws mail server.

Go to support.shaw.ca and click on the online customer care.

There you can go through the steps of making a new email account.

YOURNAME@SHAW.CA

mail server is

shawmail.vc.shawcable.net

Don't forget to have your bill handy.
