ProclaimDragon
Weird, that shouldn't happen, the Settings.xml file has 9,75 for the font size and not 975 without the comma... Maybe you should change 9,75 to 9.75 I will try the new version in a minute. ProclaimDragon
Maybe you should change 9,75 to 9.75I will try the new version in a minute. I don't think so... when debugging, if I print to the output the font size value directly from the font dialog, it will be printed with a comma, so I also use a comma. I just did a fresh instlal on my system, and that behaviour didn't occur... I don't know why it happened with PsiMoon314. So, where's that minute? I thought you would try the new versiona nd then make a few comments about it :p and not just reporting you were going to test it just for testing it :) Anyway, if anyone could check for me if the Shutdown/Restart/Logoff bug is really fixed it would be nice. I think the other day it wasn't yet fixed, or perhaps I was using a later build without that bug fixed, can't remeber but it's not happening on my system. If anyone could test it and report it to me, it would be nice. You may just log off instead of rebootin or shutdown so it's fast and this only happen (if it should happen) when the form is visible, so play arround with nzNotes and try to logoff sometimes to see if indeed it does really work. If anyone is in fact listening to this topic... Thanks. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217253-firenotes/page/2/#findComment-584617376 Share on other sites
Ultra Frosty
It works great for me Nazgulled. Still, I would like you to impliment keyboard shortcuts that are user customizable. ProclaimDragon
I'm still thinking on that but I don't think it will be on the next versions... I have some stupid bugs to fix first (wich is getting on my nervs) then I want to redesign the intreface and make it look better and more productive and after that I ahve some important features to add so users can coztumize it's size and position cuz I think that's really important... After that I'll add the hotkeys, however, I get all this done quicly otkeys may be near :) anyway could any confirm me this? In the current release 3.0.1 if you have nzNotes standing on the systray for a huge period of time, you work with your computer for a few hours and you rember you need to check up on a note, is the slide effect a bit slow? I'm asking this because it is on my computer. I have it on 24/7 and I always do some intensive work and some times the animation is pretty slow and I wanted to know if the AniamteWindow API would fix this... SlimShady
so users can coztumize it's size and position cuz I think that's really important... 584752540[/snapback] Definitely. Too bad we can't do it now. I want to have my VMWare notes visible all the time and now I have no other choice then open a Notepad window :( Edit: BTW, in comparison to Notepad2 you're application uses 10 MB more memory. ProclaimDragon
Just to keep anyone interested update but I really don't see much people reading this... Anywya, I haven't worked musch on it, as my spare time barely exist on my life, but I'm trying to release v0.4 any time soon, however, position and size won't be there, unless I decide to skip v0.4 and go directly to v0.5 with that as I've done already many changes thata are supposed to be on v0.4, but that doesn't really matter as it just a matter of numbers. About the memory. Don't worry about it. That's how .NET works, take a look at any app made in .NET. Even an empty .NET takes lots of memory. .NET apps "grabs" memory for themselves even if it's not needed and it will be released if any other app requests more memory. If you have nzNotes running for some hours or days and you give much use to your pc, you'll notice after those hours/days, the memory is way lower... ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217253-firenotes/page/2/#findComment-585058696 Share on other sites

mistical
I love it, but have a few requests... - Is there anyway you can enable us to move the program, I hate having to right click the title bar and then move it through that... - Is there anyway you can have a few size options, incase we wanted to make it slightly smaller or bigger as well, as I'd like it to have a little more height, not so much though. - Is there anyway you can allow us to remove the title bar, as an option as well, of course... - When clicking the Next Arrow, or Back Arrow, maybe an option where if we get to the end of the notes, it goes to the beginning/starts over, or if it gets to the beginning, the next click on the back arrow would allow you to go to the end. If you get what I am talking about, this would be a nice option as well. Hopefully that is not too much, just asking them to at least be able to be done as an option in the program. If you want too. Love the program though, been using it for a day now :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217253-firenotes/page/2/#findComment-585092491 Share on other sites
Slimy
nice app, can u make a non installer version? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217253-firenotes/page/2/#findComment-585092749 Share on other sites
ProclaimDragon
@mistical 1) actually, you were not supposed to do that. I guess that with the slide effect disabled, that could be useful to some people. But with the slide effect enabled, the slide would not work perfectly if the window was not snaped at one edge of the screen. I missed the titlebar move option when not allowing people to move the window around. 2) that is on my todo list already (not as easy as making it resizeable cause of the slide effect) 3) I tried tha already sometime ago, but when there was no titlebar, there was no frame border also, so, the interface kinda sucked... 4) that's a good ideia, never thought of that :p I don't think that will be hard to do... but I ahve something on my todolist and I don't want to release a new version with just one addition or two... @slimy Please explain me why you would want that so I can answer you more properly :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217253-firenotes/page/2/#findComment-585094307 Share on other sites
Slimy
^ it's uhhh simpler, like the neoshooter one, i keep it in a folder and can just update the folder when a new version comes out :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217253-firenotes/page/2/#findComment-585096478 Share on other sites
ProclaimDragon
I thouhgt you had some kind of different use for it... but with the isntaller you can just install over the same folder, the settings file won't be overwritten nor your notes will be deleted. You just need to press next a few times and that's it :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217253-firenotes/page/2/#findComment-585098739 Share on other sites

bonobozoot
seems to be a nice app bt just one thing. there is an app called Firepad and Fireviewer for Palm suite. Make sure that you make that distinction so that you do not get sued by them for sharing the same name. ProclaimDragon
****... that sucks. it's a pain to change the name and icon/logos to fit :( what distinction are u talking about? can I keep it anyway but doing something? any suggestions? what can I do so I don't have to drastically change the name (again)? ProclaimDragon
What if I change it to FireNotes? That wway I wouldn't have to redesign a ne logo and I made a search in google and haven't found any software with that name, either "FireNotes" or "Fire Notes". And besides, some people confuse this being some kind of app like notepad cause of the "pad" thing. but the agian, I don't really like the name "FireNotes" :s Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217253-firenotes/page/2/#findComment-585104632 Share on other sites

ProclaimDragon
I just recieved an e-mail from the guys ate firepad.comd and they asked me nicely to change the name as it was a registered trademark and so I'll do what they ask with the next version. I haven't yet thought of a new name despite the suggestions to just call it "FireNotes", but I'll think about it... Anyway, to keep you guys with updates (to anyone interested), the changelog for v0.5 is getting bigger (mostly bug fixes and improvements) but the next version will feature a new dialog for all the settings (see screenshot) and you will be able to set new form size and position, slide effect will be back enabled (despite the API bug is still there) and you'll be able to choose the slide speed. You will also be able to rename notes within the app. (may be changed a little when released) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217253-firenotes/page/2/#findComment-585315937 Share on other sites
