Adobe Reader 7.0 Beta Full

Recommended Posts

Hmm.. finally adobe did something about the speed issue. Second time you start the application it starts within a second.

because it caches itself on your memory, which is a bad thing considering adobe reader takes up quite an amount of ram... :pinch:

So far so good, it does load faster compared to 6.0.2 even after an Acrobat Speed-up and it reads all the PDF files I fed it :)

It does its job and that's already a good thing

I lost the icons for PDF in Explorer but that is something that a rebuilt icon cache will fix.

 It is still a 18 Mb download: that is just plain heavy for a reader, especially since 99.99% of users have for viewing and printing PDF

Many of you may have this thing tweaked but here's how you can speed it up:

go to your Adobe Reader folder, rename the plug_ins folder into plug_ins_disabled,

now create another plug_ins folder, and copy the following files from the _disabled one into the new one:

EWH32.api, printme.api, Search.api

Now start up and see if it's working.
