Crazysah
We have fought back! Pakistan 120/4 in 34 overs. Going below the required run rate! We can pull out a win. Did anybody see the West Indies vs South Africa game. It went down to the wire. Really good match! jerry
i love the boxing day tests at the mcg.. get over 70,000 people the atmosphere is amazing Yeah thats a good sight, especially when everybody is in a festive mood. The Stadium in Calcutta can accomodate over 120,000 though. West Indies pulled off a close win. India-Pak is still quite evenly poised. Pak 127/5, Razzaq bowled by Sehwag. Pak 152/6 now, Moin out; great catch by Yuvraj Singh. Edited September 19, 2004 by jerry Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217732-cricket-icc-champions-trophy/page/2/#findComment-584587275 Share on other sites

jerry
Pakistan just beat India by three wickets, who beat the **** outa who now? aah good times... To be fair Pakistan just managed to pull of the win yesterday whereas India won quite comfortably in the 2003 World Cup. Shoaib Akhtar & co. were taken to the cleaners then. ;) Back on topic, its surprising the the tickets for the semifinals are still available. :shifty: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217732-cricket-icc-champions-trophy/page/2/#findComment-584593564 Share on other sites

jerry
All ODI's in 2004 played between Pakistan and India. Pakistan has a 5 to 3 edge :) and India won those 3 back in April, so India hasnt done well recently. Shoaib Akhtar & co. were taken to the cleaners then. ;) It was a great game though, even though we (India) lost, all seats were completely packed and the atmosphere was amazing. I was just lucky that i got tickets. Well worth it and Edgbaston is an awesome ground. It would have been even better if we won :D Back on topic, its surprising the the tickets for the semifinals are still available. :shifty: Yeah thats because they are being held on weekdays and with the weather this week, it doesnt look that good :pinch: Semifinals look good , I'm going for Australia vs Pakistan for the final. I dont think England can beat Australia but I would like to be prooved wrong. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217732-cricket-icc-champions-trophy/page/2/#findComment-584595504 Share on other sites
jerry
Nice to hear from you Jerichohol. The atmosphere there was great yesterday. So much buzz, that the commentators at the toss were not audible at all. Turning point of the game was when Afridi hit those 2 sixes of Pathan, until then it was very close. Yeah it was crazy, even when the statdium was empty, there was so much noise. I pity the people who live right near the stadium. We reached at 9:30, got excellent seats near the Pavilion End and had a great time, There was no trouble at all from anyone. Yes agreed that was the turning point. Tough luck for Pathan, Afridi is too good. Thats the thing with Pakistan , they have more all rounders then we do, unfortunately. and thats the reason we won. Next time when we play together. Let the result be a different one... :shifty: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217732-cricket-icc-champions-trophy/page/2/#findComment-584595563 Share on other sites
a1kashur
Big upset, England beat Australia and reach finals. What an amzing match it was. Congrats to England. Pak plays WI tonight, I think Pak has upper hand but cricket is a funny game. If Eng can beat Aust, then any thing can happen... :) ^ Afiridi's 2 late sixers did the job for Pakistan. Pathan's first spell was great but his 2nd spell was *#$* by Afridi. And people were comparing him with Wasim Akram. :) Peace! jerry
West Indies have been looking good so far. I'd say the opposite, Pakistan is looks to have improved more under Bob Woolmer. Their rebuilding process has gained momentum. I think Shoaib Akhtar will be an important factor tomorrow as he performs better when there is no pressure on him. West Indies is still flashy, their batting is like that of India or maybe even worse. They were lucky to have pipped the South Africans as Sarwan and Lara are nowhere near their regular selves yet they managed to chip in. Can they do it again ? We'll see tomorrow. edit:  to the folks over in UK/England. jerry
Yay ! West Indies win the Champions Trophy !!! Feel sorry for England. It was so close. This is the second time they lost a game they should have won; the other being the Natwest 2002 final with India. a1kashur
Record breaking partnership between Browne and Bradshaw won WI the game and the trophy. It was an amzing win. Take that Ponting, slap in your face. I was mad as hell when he said he rather see England win the trophy than other two sides ( Pakistan/West Indies). *showing middle-finger* Congrats to WI team and fans. Deserving win. Bad luck for Eng. As a friend of mine says England don't win finals. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/217732-cricket-icc-champions-trophy/page/2/#findComment-584622169 Share on other sites
