6785077276
When you ask boot time, do you mean from the bios post or from when it says Windows XP loading screen? Nagisan
My fastest is about 25 seconds with a fresh copy of windows installed, the main programs I use, and of course after I'm done tweaking it. This is done in that speed with a 3000+ processor. On my other comp, with an FX-57, it takes about 10-15 seconds with all the above done. EDIT: This is also counting from as soon as I hit the button to the time I can open a program.(if i went from BIOS to windows with no hour glass, it would be more like 20 seconds for my main comp, 10 for the other) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/220190-your-fastest-boot-time/page/11/#findComment-587822768 Share on other sites
chavo
My laptop boots hella fast. My main computer takes a while though. It takes some time just going through the bios screen. I've never timed it though as that is utterly the least important thing I've ever not considered to not matter at all to anyone ever. Boxster17
I'll have to time mine to figure it out, but I think that it takes about 30-45s. Although I am due for a fresh install, so I'll see what it's like after that. Phixion
WOW 27 seconds is amazing. Mine must take all of 5 minutes to load up with anti-virus software, etc etc. I would appreciate it if anyone could post some tips and tricks for clearing my computer of all of the rubbish, and allowing it to boot up quicker. Are there any quick tests which I can do to highlight areas which need fixing? Chit Chat format c:\, nah but seriously if your PC is taking that long to boot it is time for a format. Don't install crap you don't need and disable services that you don't use. Randolph
around 2 minutes, when i press the power button this is the process 2secs: dell logo 1mini sec: blank screen 20secs: xp loading screen the moving left to right 1sec: to click on username 1min and some secs: start up items, like msn, aim, logitech webcam & mouse thingy, konfabutlator, webroot spy sweeper, quciktime. i dont know why it takes so long for simple apps, but it's alright since the sucker is used once in a while, and i always hibriate it so it wont take as long anymore Why can't I PM you? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/220190-your-fastest-boot-time/page/11/#findComment-587838968 Share on other sites
