aclarke_31
Do servers count ;) Server we've got here is: Two Dual Core 2.6ghz Intel Xeon's 4gig Ram (upgradable to 16gig) SAS array of 8x 72gig Hard Disk Drives running at 10k RPM Whole server takes about 2 minutes to boot into Windows fully :p Windows 2000 installed in roughly 1 minute and 30 seconds O.O; PS: The only reason its that long is because of the ethernet bootup which I haven't disabled yet :p and the SAS Array Detection :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/220190-your-fastest-boot-time/page/12/#findComment-587911809 Share on other sites

Helba
When our server was still set up with our 900mhz Duron it got 30 seconds even from first BIOS screen to usable desktop. That computer was crazy though. I don't get it. The desktop actually loaded BEFORE the welcome screen. ...Woot! Xerg
After bios, it's like 7-8 secs. With bios, it's like 12 secs... I never had to wait over 15 secs for my comp to restart. And I'm running a weak 2ghz + 7200 rpm hd. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/220190-your-fastest-boot-time/page/12/#findComment-588277717 Share on other sites

PyX
My fastest boot time was with my Mac, it was like 15 seconds when I had nothing installed. Now that it's loaded, it's like 40 seconds. I had an awesome PC before my Mac (that is still very good nowadays) and it took more than a minute and a half, so anybody who says that a PC loads within 30 seconds, I don't believe him. It's not really about the processor here, it's about the hard disk that makes it impossible to load within x seconds, unless nothing is installed, but still. BTW, on a PC, the BIOS itself takes more than 10 seconds. So it makes some users here even more unbelievable. PyX
30 seconds... it's not unbelievable, but it's still not much. If you don't have an antivirus, antispyware and firewall, it's totally possible. Glorious
Planning on a spring clean soon, removing programs, defragment, bootvis and tunexp etc. but at the minute about 25 seconds from the BIOS screen. kotetsurain
I really haven't even timed mine, but it's not a very good computer (went into best buy and asked for the cheapest thing they've got). It loads up faster than I've ever seen one load, but it's thoroughly optimised, and doesn't have anything useless on it... and by useless I mean antivirus, antispyware, and firewall. I've never had a need for them at all. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/220190-your-fastest-boot-time/page/12/#findComment-588296509 Share on other sites
MightyJordan
I think my fastest is about 20 seconds. A big improvement over my old PC, which took like a minute to boot up. ntbnnt
My fastest had to be about 20 seconds - I have no antivirus, etc. that starts up and almost no nonessential services and hardly any startup prgms. On average, i boot at about 30 secs. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/220190-your-fastest-boot-time/page/12/#findComment-588296881 Share on other sites

da.pwns
Depending on what bios screens I have elected to show, SATA/RAID splashes etc, on Vista Ultimate it takes roughly 45 secs.
