Skulltrail-old
30 seconds? I never noticed... As long as it boots fine I'm good. It shuts down in like 5 seconds flat though. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/220190-your-fastest-boot-time/page/14/#findComment-589506351 Share on other sites

Skulltrail-old
As long as mine isn't above 1 minute then I don't really care, I usually leave my computer running 24/7 anyway. ViZioN
My boot time is quite long on Vista, it slowed after I added 4GB of RAM, so I figure its SuperFetch at work. Computer is lightning fast after login so I don't really care if it takes longer to start Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/220190-your-fastest-boot-time/page/14/#findComment-589826600 Share on other sites
tsupersonic
My boot time is around 25-30 seconds on XP. Ubuntu boot time on the same machine, is about in the 1:00 - 1:10 range. Tech God
my best was around 10 seconds, fresh xp install with Q6600 overclocked to 4.4 Ghz. XP loading bar went through like half way, i disabled all the ram checking and everything so the screen is only black for about 3 seconds before the bootscreen is up. PyX
It takes about a minute to boot in either OS X Snow Leopard or Windows 7 on my brand-new-and-still-shiny iMac 27". No matter what config or what OS I had in my entire life (Windows 98, ME, XP, Vista, 7, OS X 10.4, 10.5, 10.6), it has always taken about a minute, so God only knows what those people do to boot in 10-15 seconds :p The BIOS itself is about 15 seconds, and the EFI may be like 10 seconds... My hypothesis is that they confuse "hibernation mode" and "shut down", which would make a lot of sense, because coming back from hibernation takes almost no time. John.D
XP Pro SP3 - 12 secs. No AV program or firewall on it. This PC takes longer because of this solid colour background bug, (windows 7 - which has been installed, it didnt do a lot, and this 96 DPI bug). You have to request it, but I cant be stuffed trying to figure out what option to choose - 37 secs. 2.8 dual core Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/220190-your-fastest-boot-time/page/14/#findComment-592213910 Share on other sites
