Firefox 0.9.3 = 14,000K Approx.

Firefox 1.0 PR = 45,000K Approx.

But then again, I'm not even using more than 1/3 of my total memory at any one time (unless I'm playing games), so a high memory cost for a good browsing experience is a fine trade-off for me.

Firefox is 47 with two tabs open on this forum.

IE is 31 with two windows open on this forum..

I don't have a problem with FF memory usage levels. As found on most non-MS applications, its pretty hard to beat MS when it comes to optimizing memory usage. They own all the underlying code so I can't really see FF ever beating them at that game.

If it used twice as much memory I'd stil love it.

SALGOTH

thats nothing compared to opera... ive noticed lately that it takes up around 80 megs.... (just lately did i figure that out) in the resource monitor...

so just be happy that your firefox doesnt take up as much resources as opera...

Hmm! My Opera is only taking up 12megs where as IE is taking 24. Both with just 1 window/tab open.

There have a couple threads on this subject before. Seems FF does take the most on most systems.
