trigger_my_passion
I work with about 4 to 5 word documents open at a time. Is it possible to have them all in a single interface? If yes, how? TIA. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/223958-tabs-in-ms-word/ Share on other sites
0 lardiop Veteran Posted September 29, 2004 Veteran Share Posted September 29, 2004 Yes there is... But for the life of me I can't remember what the option inside of Word is called. I had the same question a few months back when all my documents started to open in individual windows. I'll keep looking EDIT: It's called the "Single Document Interface", and from what you're describing.. it's turned off. Damn I can't remember how to enable it. 0 semifamous
Tabs would be a nice feature though to go from ane to another without having to click in "Window" then the one you want. One click would be better... That'll probably show up next year or something... 0 Angel Blue01
It wasn't an option in Word 2000. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/223958-tabs-in-ms-word/#findComment-584644908 Share on other sites
0 lardiop Veteran Posted September 29, 2004 Veteran Share Posted September 29, 2004 Just found this: Office MDI Scroll down about half way until you see the "MDI Option" section. Office XP introduced the option to change between the MDI and SDI, Office 2000 doesn't include that option. 0 trigger_my_passion
The answer by primortal is fine but is it possible to have the currently open documents show up as tabs so switching between them becomes easier? After 'Windows in taskbar' is unchked, we have to go to 'Windows' menu and choose the document we want to work by clking on it...wud be much easier to have the open docs show up in tabs.
