I don't know if this is the correct place, but if it needs to be move or remove, mods please do it for me.

I work @ a college (not gonna mention the name). This "company" tried to send us a package to try their products first, it was all verbal. After the college receive the package, like 2 weeks later they send the invoice. The college has talked to them several times, resulting in an argument between this company and the college. The college sent the package back to the company in a condition that the college was going to pay for the package to be sent. Whoever receive the package, refused to accept it. Doing a search for the company's name on the web, didnt find any result, but I found an interesting site, and wanted to share it with all of you.

The following company has been removed from the approved vendor file and is

prohibited from doing business with the University of Florida.

If you are to receive a phone call from this company, either HANG UP

IMMEDIATELY or transfer the call to me at my phone number below.

DataComputer Products

10 Lake St

Kauneonga Lake NY 12749-0999

The company, through telephone solicitation, encourages department personnel

to accept items (toner, printer cleaner sheets, etc.,) for 30-day evaluation

OR usually states that Purchasing has requested they call the department in

order to refill a previous order before a price increase occurs. We do not

do this. These vendors prey on unsuspecting University individuals who may

not know that this is a scam and commit to what sounds like a good deal.

Please note that once the order is received, the department is fiscally

responsible for payment of items, which we should purchase from approved

contract or otherwise reputable local vendors, at a much lower price.

Please forward this information to anyone in your department that may

receive contact from such unscrupulous vendors and remind everyone that any

solicitations from unknown vendors should be directed to the chief fiscal

person in your department or to Purchasing.

Together, we can work to prevent this from happening.

Thank you,

Donna

one thing... you should not post your phone number

Hankyone, I understand your concern about the phone number, but it's not my telephone number. I just decided to do a search on the company, and what I found out I decided to share it with the rest of the people out there, because this company is probably going to scam other people or companies the same way. If I edit the information, it wont make any difference, because the source has the telephone number posted, but I will do it anyway. :D
