are there any new emoticons?

i dont think so (from what ive seen using 7) but u can add your own animated ones..

is it illegal to install and use msn 7.0?

Nope. Neowin just isnt allowing links because they have a good relacionship with MS. They problably will allow tho in the next few days because admins will notice that its been spread all over (Even MSN's internal beta site where you can offically download it from them has been leakeed) and theres no use it fighting it. Hell theres eeven links to the Mess.be forum where you can find it and they have not removed. But oh well Neowin knows whats best for Neowin.

Patchou is happy to say that after three nights, a lot of Pepsi and yes, even some sushi, Messenger Plus! is already about 66% compatible with MSN Messenger 7. The biggest task is now to find a way to add the Plus! icon to the new contact list style, support custom names, etc.

With some luck, Patchou will be able to release a completely compatible version by the end of October or maybe even earlier.

In the conversation window, click the Winks? button.

Under What's Hot, click the wink you want to download.

?or?

Click more to see additional winks, and then click the wink you want to download.

Follow the instructions on the MSN partner site. Your new wink will be automatically installed.

Notes

Some features may not be available in your country or region.

If you have billing problems or questions when purchasing MSN Messenger components or services from an MSN content partner, you must contact the content provider directly: Click the Help menu, point to Billing Support, and then click the component or service that you would like billing assistance with. MSN Product Support cannot resolve billing issues with other companies.

MSN Messenger components purchased from MSN content partners can only be used on the same computer and with the same Passport account with which they were purchased.

To view winks, you and your contact must have installed the latest version of the Macromedia Flash player. To install the Flash player, go to the Macromedia website.

In the conversation window, click the Actions menu, and then click Send a Wink.

In the My Winks dialog box, click the wink you want to delete, and then click Remove.

Click Close.

You have to pay for Winks!!!

edit: and probably any extra content
