mortensen
This is due to be release 18th June 2002 and it has some amazing tracks on it. 01 Intro 02 Peace God 03 PJ's 04 80 Bars 05 Masquerade ft. MOP 06 1-800-Henchman 07 Gangsta ft. Sharissa Butch Cassidy 08 Party Like I Party 09 What A Night 10 Hot 93.1 Pussycat 11 Midnight Lovers 12 One Last Chance ft. Claudette (of City High) 13 Instant Request 14 Thug Like Me 15 Daddy 16 Knockin On Heavens Door 17 Ending 18 No More War PS - Knockin On Heavens Door is a cover and is dedicated to the people of New York and the people that died in the WTC's and the Pentagon. This has easily got some of his best work on it... Thug Like Me is a particularly good one, as is Masquerade, What A Night, No More War, One Last Chance and Peace God. I actually prefer 'Thug Like Me' to 'Perfect Gentleman'. Only two BAD songs I have found on it: 80 bars (still not too bad) and Hot 93.1 Pussycat (REALLY BAD!). To anyone that doesn't know Wyclef Jean is a rapper, he is hugely popular and has even written a song for Santana. This album has also leaked onto the web already, TWO MONTHS before its official release. I recommend this album to everyone. PS - I like this a lot... very different to the rest of the music I have: Marilyn Manson, Ill Nino, System Of A Down. Jessterw
Sweet, was wondering what he was up to. I've liked Wyclef since he was with the Fugees, mainly because he gets into so many different types of music genres and doesn't get hung up on so many of the same "bling bling" and "murder this, murder that" nonsense that alot of other rappers do. I wonder how many times someone is going to remake "Knockin' On Heavens Door"? Of course I've always preferred the original, maybe Wyclef can change that lol. :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/22589-wyclef-jean-masquerade-album/#findComment-194835 Share on other sites
h71y6
you are right about that! i loved the fugees.. lauren hill is really good.. eventho my music taste doesn't necessarily envelope that type of music.. but i've always found something to like in everything. Jessterw
I haven't heard Wyclef's version of "Wish You Were Here", although I did like Fred Durst's version of it... of course the Pink Floyd original will always be the best! Radiohead never did a version of it... it was just another band with lead vocals by Thom Yorke (of Radiohead fame) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/22589-wyclef-jean-masquerade-album/#findComment-196482 Share on other sites
mortensen
didn't quite like like last album too much but still good ..hope this one is much better This one is FAR better... the best song on his last album (Ecleftic, right?) was Perfect Gentleman. That song is REALLY good. This album is EASILY better than his last album (very disappointing). This is a very topical album... there are references to the WTC's, 'soldiers' that died in the Pentagon, Bin Laden. Great. There are so few bad songs that it is really good. This album is 55 minutes long, far longer than the measly 33 minutes for the new Weezer album, Maladroit. I'm looking forward to the release of some of these as singles as I really liked the music video for Perfect Gentleman. Well, expect these songs to be played SO much before you can actually get your hands on them (it is so annoying hearing music and not being able to buy it for weeks!).
