All they sing in those songs are f*** and about having sex. With the immaturity inside most teens, I believe that this cr@p is corrupting them even more and I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS CRAP!! Mtv was at its best back in 1992-1994 when they played great music like Nirvana and Metalica, some Smashing pumpkins or whatever. now when i turn on Mtv i see stupid pointless Tv shows, and when there is music it is some pop crap, or Rap/R&B in order to get rock back on mtv they made a show all about rock and grunge bands and that is on very late and only for a half hour, and even then they play soft crap rock. Mtv has sold out in all respects of the music business. But I have a simple solution. Just boycott all of it. Go out and buy all the great albums and just listen to those. Silvorgold Posted April 14, 2002 Share Posted April 14, 2002 i REALLLLLLY hate ANY form of pop/rap (aka crap)/r&b from the past 15 years, music is getting cruddier n cruddier each year, everyone (who has the right mind) is getting tired of this bs, my sister says that rock music and classic rock is crap, i should laugh in her face cuz i really feel that the music she listens to is crap since its not music at all, the "so called" musicians DONT play any instruments, they dont write their own music, they get paid big bux just to sing in girlish voices, rappers ONLY sing bout sex/drugs/pimpin in their songs, n it always sounds the same, theres no REAL music in pop/rap, all rap is, is a drum machine n a guy who puts a bass as loud as it can go. In canada theres not that many pop musicians, THANK GOD! that are popular, bands like Nickelback (not a fan of them tho), BNL, Sum41, Our Lady Peace, Tal Bachman, and the Tragically Hip (their songs are on the comedy "Men with Brooms") are keeping canadian music hip n keeping rap/pop/r&b from being taken over totally in canada, although celine dion is still around... Was listening to a classic rock station from here called 92 Citi FM (one of canada's best classic rock stations) n they sometimes have modern rock on it but i dont mind it cuz i'm just so tired of listening to rap/pop/r&b bs day after day after day (at school and on the way to and back from school) i just wish all these music companies stop with all the crappy boybands n etc n get their act together n sign GOOD musicians geez.... i do have a friend who used to be in some r&b band for a while last year n heard their songs on the radio but geez, i hate fake music.... well thats my 1.25? Plau any song with one artist you never heard of and "feat." 20 others is retarted. They are having the last laugh, taking the public for a ride . . . Want to hear good new music? chekc out the college radio stations in your area. You can also check out KCRW - they stream over the internet. Seriously though, most 'pop' is ok like most other styles of music as long as you don't hear it 10+ times per day or isn't played in the top 30 for over 6 months. The sex thing is going OTT though. Listening to older songs I don't think its really much wose than it ever has been, but its all concentrated on one topic. Its like everyone singing about how the installation of their new GF4 went 1001 different ways. What on earth happened to signing about solving a bug in Mozilla or something? Great hooks, different music, and you can immediately tell crap industrial from true artists. Anyone else given bands like Kidney Theives, KMFDM, Prick, and Pig a shot?
