pizza
That doesn't mean you can't add files. Try it ;)
+BudMan MVC Posted October 5, 2004 MVC Share Posted October 5, 2004 This by design - you are misinterpreting the meaning of that green box. Here this might clear it up for you - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;326549
djtaylor
That doesn't mean the folder is read-only. It's a tri-state checkbox. As well as being selected (a box with a tick in it) and not selected (an empty box), checkboxes can also have a third state, displayed as a solid square on Win XP and as a grey tick on Win 9x/ME/NT/2000. In the case of the properties dialog, it means you selected more than one file or a folder. Left as is, clicking on OK or Apply will not change that read-only status of the folder or any of the files within it. Selecting the checkbox will give the folder and its files a status of read-only; deselecting it will give them a status of read/write.
