Slow boot with wallpaper

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've got a very annoying problem.

When WinXP SP2 boots I see the wallpaper for almost 5 minutes, but there's no CPU activity and I don't have a taskbar or anything. At the moment I press Ctrl+Alt+Del and I close svchost.exe -> Network Service the computer continues booting.

The problem doesn't when I set my WLAN at 'Disabled', but it's very annoying to turn it later on and to turn it off before shutting down.

This problem occured after a hard reset of the system while it was restoring it's WLAN connection.

Strang is the fact that my normal LAN adapter can be enabled without having this problem.

I tried to remove the WLAN card drivers of my system and reinstalled them, but it didn't solve the problem

Does someone know a solution for this problem?
