Dessimat0r
I like Japanese pop :D Oh, and I don't listen to it just because everyone else does, I listen to it because I like it, a lesson that, perhaps, some of you should learn :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/22746-punk/page/2/#findComment-196604 Share on other sites
Jon
well maybe you should stop being so narrow minded and try to expand some of your tastes by actually *listening* to some punk muisc. ROFL, no offence dude, but you've contradicted yourself quite a few times now. I'm here saying i listen to all sorts, and dont care if its not 'true die hard punk', where as you are bitching about 'the day xx is called punk is the day i die'. If you'd read any of the other threads on music you'd realise I listen to pretty much anything but dance, ranging from classical music, to aaron neville, to slayer. Dont you have school tommorrow, I'm sure you should be in bed by now ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/22746-punk/page/2/#findComment-196607 Share on other sites

Well first off, Ska is not a version of punk. Ska has been mixed with the punk style lately, (very popular in the later 90's) and still is my havorite music. As for punk, I am more of what people call the "pop" punk of today, eq: green day, goldfinger, rancid, the suicide machines. Even some of these have the ska infuence mixed in. Not too big of the hardcore punk though. I still listen to just about the same band from back in 94 to 2000, everything else has been crap lately, no wonder recored sales are decreasing. Deron Dantzler
used to be really into punk...of late i'm more into emo and hXc...i know they are kinda opposite ends of the spectrum, but punk just isn't my thing anymore. depending on my mood i listen to either hXc or emo :). punk is just to trashy for my taste. i like the rhythm of hXc, and the heaviness of it. emo is 'pretty' and it's just really my kinda music. bands: emo: nfg, saves the day, dashboard confessional, starting line, get up kids, rufio, boy sets fire, the starting line, much much much more... hxc: hatebreed, blood for blood, coalesce, stretch armstrong (from my home state!!!), poison the well, etc... other: blink 182 (sold out but hey...), sum 41, system of a down, some other sold out pop/punk, hard rock bands... by the way has anyone heard the starting line's version of "i'm real" (j-lo)? if not download it...it's an interesting twist. heard it at a hot topic the other night. those who don't know starting line should hear it. they are easy to confuse w/ nfg. they're great though. analog chainsaw
Good Riddance, Strung Out, Pennywise, Guttermouth, Bouncing Souls, AFI, Pulley, Propagandhi, Suicide Machines, Lagwagon, Ten Foot Pole.... These are my faves. I realize they're a few of the more "mainstream", more known punk bands, but who gives a ****, if they make great music, it doesn't matter if 10 people listen to them or millions. It's still good. :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/22746-punk/page/2/#findComment-196652 Share on other sites

IgwanaRob
All-time favorite band is the Ramones. My brother is JoeL8X from Latex Generation - which got me into hanging out with/seeing bands like Less Than Jake (really good friends with my brother), Bouncing Souls, NoFX. My brother was on the Warped Tour a few years ago with Less Than Jake, C.J. Ramone, Suicidal Tendencies, and a bunch of other bands - and all he brought me back was a Suicidal bandana singed my Mike Muir...
