Jon
baphomet_ie, I mean the little skate kiddies, the 8-14yr olds who do it coz its trendy, and nothing else. Those who bought a limpbizkit hoody a year ago, wore it for a week, now refuse to because it aint trendy. Lots of my mates are older skaters, probably like yourself, no offence ment :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/22746-punk/page/3/#findComment-197465 Share on other sites

Here's a pic from ages ago - at least 12 or thirteen years ago (I was about 17) - of me doing an ollie over a chess table at a park by my old house. One of my favorite pics, and it was hanging in the local skate shop for ages cuz nobody could believe I was doing an ollie (most though there was a ramp) The good old days, before my knees blew out and my back went bad :p I still have my last board - a Santa Cruz Tom Knox, with the receipt from 1991! - as well as my old Rodney Mullen freestyle board. I went though about 5 or 6 decks a year for close to 10 years. Damn, I can't hear old Suicidal, or even the Dead Milkmen (they were great for street tricks ;) )without wanting to go out an carve a few curbs. Ok, now I gotta go play Tony Hawk while listening to some Circle Jerks, D.I., DRI, Black Flagg, RAMONES, ST, Misfits (gotta play Skulls and Teenagers from Mars :D ), Dead Milkmen, Sex Pistols, PIL, and throw in some SOD, MOD and Scatterbrain for good measure ... It was a show with Marky Ramone and the Intruders - fourtunately at a club I used to wok at so I got to hang out backstage with Marky all night (someone lost his glasses, and he was having a coniption :p ), as well as drink with the Misfits. misecia
punk is no longer what it use to be for me, i much prefer the old stuff and i'm leaning now more towards Goth and 80's NewWave... like Joy Division, The Cure, Depeche Mode and all that, then thats what i grew up with and thats what i like best, i rarely listen to any music that has been released in the last two years :o Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/22746-punk/page/3/#findComment-199755 Share on other sites
IgwanaRob
Originally posted by baphomet_ie IgwanaRob, Was Doyle there when u met the Misfits? I could say yes, but I was so plastered and spent most of the night hanging out with Marky Ramone that I barely remember who I was talking to/hanging out with after the show. I do remember hanging with Marky for a few hours, then we spent a hour or so at the little bar in the backstage area before heading outside to the deck when that pic was taken. samo123_uk
Well , I like both punk and Heavy Rock (but not to heavy!) . My fav Punk band is called The Living End from Aussie Land. DO a search on Amazon for The Living End and you will find two albums "The Living End" and "Roll On" whihch are both good albums but the first one is more faster pace than the second one. If you like stuff like greenday, blink182 . You'll like these :D There are some good tunes in there so ,GO GET!
