wd40
How can I get the other computer to see the shared folders on my computer like I can see on the other computer? Here is my setup. Both computers are running Windows XP SP2. I can connect to the other computer's file shares just fine. When I try and connect to my computer from the other computer, I get access denied. Everything is the same except that on my computer, my login has a password. There are 4 logins on this computer and 2 on the other computer. I only have my login on this computer and it's password protected. No other accounts are password protected. I'm a little brain dead today so maybe someone here can help me figure this one out. kurono
Check if they are on the same workgroup. On the computer that can't connect to the other, try the "Set up a home or small office network" configuration in the "My Network Places" folder. During that process, make sure you enable the "Enable File Sharing and Printing" option. After that's done, you should see it. If not, try the "Add a network place" option in the same folder and see if you can find the other computer. If that still doesn't work, then I guess you could try the same process on the computer that works, but then why break something that isn't? Also, I think both computers must have the same user name inorder for them to connect. I'm not too sure about it. Maybe somebody else knows.
