angusmann Posted October 11, 2004 Share Posted October 11, 2004 Hi all. My system specs are in the signature. There is no spyware or virus to blame - I know. I have checked. I have a few programs on my computer that have run perfectly until the last couple of days. When I click on the program (it's an .exe) absolutely nothing happens. The program does not load or execute. When I check with task manager no new process or application appears. It's as though I never clicked the program at all. There is no error message or alert - nothing. I had this a LONG time ago with Win2000. Slowly over a month or so the list of programs affected became so large I ended up reformatting. I hope this is not a repeat episode. I have done a hex-dump of the .exe files in question and they seem to be all in order. For some reason windows just won't execute them. Any ideas ? angusmann Posted October 12, 2004 Author Share Posted October 12, 2004 Bump ! Can nobody help with this one? If it matters, I think the program in question is 16 bit, because it's quite old.
