Too bad I'm a kid or else I'd be using SP2. ;) All I know is in Windows ME (which I'm currently using), the feature to show/hide icons was completely disabled. It was present in Windows 98 but not in Windows ME. In Windows 98, you would go to the Display Properties, choose the "Effects" tab and there would be a separate section where you could choose "Hide desktop icons when Active Desktop is turned on" (or something like that). Of course, Windows XP is different completely, but it might help. Do you have any utilities that could possibly disable that feature? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
