What your country's like

i live in a rather large town Waterloovile, it's in the south of england not far from portsmouth.

the quality of the roads suck but in portsmouth the council is handing over the mantaince of the roads and paths to a private firm who are going to invest 500mill in to doing up portsmouth, they will have them for half a century.

near me we got some very old places, Portsmouth dates back to about 1180, its the home of the royal navy and we have a few navel ships based in the dock yard, which has historic ships in them.

it got the remains of the Mary Rose, which has been in a large buliding getting treated for about 15 years.

got The Warrior which has never seen battle but a big massive ship.

then there the Victory who Admiral Lord Nelson has commanded.

my town waterlooville was started in 1815 and has a few old churches. near it is what we call The Downs. which is country side, and from catherton church you can look across the rest of the country and see the ise of wight. which is far. i should have some pics of it somewhere.

the registrations on cars well here is an example. Newer type = HX52 UDV HX= county eg Hampshire, 52= year it registred. UDV=random letter.

before it was based on the age like this Y106 kbp the Y was the year the rest was random i think.

Waterlooville when it was made was part of the Forest of Bere, which stretched from the border of Sussex to Winchester. Today Queens enclosure is one of the last remnants of the forest. so before it got choped down it was MASSIVE. and Portsmouth was a ship buliding city and some chips are still made here.

Where i live now is on the edge of a council overspill estate, called wecock farm which as you may of guessed was farming land before.

the estate was bad but now it's starting to become more private and not so bad.

but sadly our local council (havent another old place) is starting to distroy the history i think. there planing a big massive bus route from portsmouth to clanfield which is a few miles from me. and in order to do it they will have to cut down some trees on the london road which right next to it is the queen encloser which is some remains of the forest of bere. and portsmouth is becoming more modern losing some of it historic feeling, but lucky where they bulit a new shoping complexed called Gun Wharf is housed on an old navel site called vernon(i think) and it had a brick wall and a big arch/gate which are still there.

the buliding of the Spinnaker Tower is slowing happen yet it's a waste of money.

i try and post some pictures later.

Montreal, Quebec, Canada is an island.

License plates - can be any of the following for the whole province (depending on when they were made): ABC 123 or 123 ABC or 123A456

Weather is cold, unless it's hot. We have 4 seasons here, summer, winter, still winter, and almost summer but still winter.

I live in a suburban area not far from the downtown core. Accessible by train, bus and metro, you can go pretty much anywhere on the island.

We have at least 2 of the biggest international festival's every year, Jazz and Comedy.

We have many, many churches.

I live in Hong Kong. Born here. But of Indian (Punjabi) heritage.

Went to Australia -> Melbourne before to study also.

Saw 2 Kangaroos. One at Hanging Rock - it was a small greyish amd old. The other one I saw from the window of a bus. I am sure it was DEAD.

However, I heard couple of great stories from my aussie "mates" about big red kangaroos that are known to beat (kick box?) the crap out of people.

As for Hong Kong...we live in tall buildings and small cramped up apartments - oh how I miss my former house in Australia. It is too damn polluted nowadays. The roads are quite packed. The people are mostly quite rude. Everything is fast, Everything is about money. Politics suck here and are simply too boring. Not too many hot chicks, and the clubbing life tends to get boring fast.

What else...don't know about the car number plates, never noticed such things. It is way too expensive to own a car here.

Oh, we suck in sports, but then again, sports aren't a priority in this business community. HA, community -> we are freaking 7 million people in this small city. Try breathing!

Oh and this following pic is the view I do however get 5 mins from my home near the harbour. Check it out.

I'm from the UK, and also never seen Kangaroo.

cali is too big to describe and i'm sure most people know it anyway.

lets just say cali is a little bit of every country.

now for another country.. where i'm from.

Ethiopia

first i want to make it clear that not everyone is starving there. Out of all the other african countries i would say Ethiopia is 3rd most developed.. behind South Africa and maybe Egypt. There is so much history in Ethiopia so i'll just say a few things..

from the last time i visited, 6 years ago... they've built a new airport, built a new highway system.. re-paved all that streets, cleaned up the city and are now paving roads from the rest of the country.

also, no one in ethiopia drives automatic cars.. only the american embassy cars are automatic. lol

Ethiopia has the biggest hotel in Africa Sheraton Addis Ababa.

just as briton is full of pubs, ethiopia is full of pastry and coffee places.

Pictures.. i'm going to ethiopia next summer and i'll post a new thread of my visit there.

and they are now preparing to fight another war with Eritria, and some extremist groups near the somalia border.. i think there are some US troops there too.

I live in and work at Hammock Dunes... a private community in Florida. here's what the area is like.

 Real estate is a rewarding career.

I live in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes (in the middle of Mexico), the city has around 1,000,000 inhabitants.

It's one of the cleanest cities in the whole country and as art of war said you only see someone using a sombrero in the rural areas or when they come to the city (very rare), we don't eat burritos either! (Our neighbors^ need to stop drawing us like that! )

The weather is pretty strange, it varies from 5?C>(41?F) t35-40?C/b> (95-104?F) depending on the station of the year but the average17-20?CC (62.6-68?F).

I'll try to post some pics over the weekend.

Weather is cold, unless it's hot. We have 4 seasons here, summer, winter, still winter, and almost summer but still winter.

I live in Finland and the weather conditions in Canada seem very similar. We also have those 4 seasons, it's now supposed to be what they call Fall but to me it's just colder than summer with more rain and, unfortunately, soon snow.

I live in the centre of Finland in a city called Jyv?skyl? which has the population of about 80,000. Quite on the contrast of what people think of Finland, we do not have polar bears walking in our streets.

I've put here a sort of a collection of different kinds of photographs from my country. I've taken them all and in garage.jpg is one of my current roommates.
