jimro
Anyone who have been in contact with Mac OS X might have noticed a very clever feature called expos?: http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/expose/ I wonder if anyone know of a program for Windows XP that can handle windows in the same way? nazgul
As for Expire... I've been a beta tester since day one. It certainly has the potential to become an AWESOME little app - but it's nowhere close to there yet. ev0|
winplosion 2. Somewhat quirky (mostly other apps with hidden windows are annoying) and needs improvement, but quite smooth and looks good, plus useful. f0vela
WinPlosion is very useful, I have just discovered this little app and i'm impressed with it's speed. jimro
Using WinPLOSION now! it's Great! :D a feature like this should be standard on all operating systems  Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/236459-expos/#findComment-584815745 Share on other sites
f0vela
expire/winplosion. but its a useless app imo. if you have a bunch of open windows in your desktop, and want to know where is the one you're searching, without time wasting, it's good for you. this is an option for those who uses many apps and windows at the same time. :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/236459-expos/#findComment-584815772 Share on other sites

jimro
alt+tab works fine, or winkey+d 584815784 but its not quite the same, with alt+tab u dont see the actual windows, just icons representing each window. cmon, admit it, its a cool feature ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/236459-expos/#findComment-584815808 Share on other sites
eevoo
I'm with kiwi on this, granted the "cool" factor is way up there, and obviously for allot of people it's very useful but for myself I don't really need to see the window contents, an icon does just fine. Plus I'm use to linux style virtual desktop. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/236459-expos/#findComment-584816012 Share on other sites
kylejn
I gotta try this WinPlosion thing when I get home. I've fallen madly in love with Expose at school, and would LOVE to have this feature on a PC. AshMan
I dont like it's shortcut keys as I use WIN+1/2/3/4 for my virtual Desktops. STV
actually, windows has had this "expose" functionality since what? windows 95? right click on the task bar and select "tile Windows vertically", "Tile Windows Horizontally", or "cascade WIndows" STV Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/236459-expos/#findComment-584818052 Share on other sites
Redestium
It doesn't seem to work properly after exiting a game, maybe you need to exclude all games in the options? noyb
actually, windows has had this "expose" functionality since what? windows 95?right click on the task bar and select "tile Windows vertically", "Tile Windows Horizontally", or "cascade WIndows" STV 584818052 Its not quite the same thing, expose uses zoom effects to actually resize the windows to fit the screen but unlike Windows you still see the full Window for example if i were to use the tile effect in Windows with a few images i would only be seeing part of the images and following that i would then have to resize all the images again making the arangement worse than it was before. As i have seen you post this before STV (i think it was you) i really think if you get a chance to use a Mac you should try it for yourself, it really does make a difference, most people shrug it off but its like browser tabs once you use it a few times it becomes an essential tool to managing your workspace. rustyPixel
WinPLOSION rocks...it's not perfect, however. (considering it's not freeware, I figure I can criticize it and feel okay about it :)). (1) The "windows" don't turn light blue when you hover over them the way they do in Mac indicating which one you're about to select. (2) When you select the option to show your desktop, the windows don't really "slide" out to the side...instead, it's more like a "WinKey + D" -- all the windows disappear, but there's no cool sliding effect. Other than that, the program works amazingly well! Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/236459-expos/#findComment-584823811 Share on other sites
ciaran00
Switched to this from winplosion http://www.entbloess.com/ Seems to be faster and allows you to interact with window controls while in expose mode. Also, it updates window contents while in expose mode, too. Cheaper than winplosion... Window shading blue effect is there... allows you to use alt-tab as a key... etc etc. ciaran Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/236459-expos/#findComment-584831542 Share on other sites
