Faster browsing with Firefox

Didn't believe it really.. thought it was along the lines of those optimized builds of Firefox.. which didn't do much for me.. but this really made a HUGE difference...

To see the effect go to a website which has alot of small pics on it.. ads or thumbnails/previews etc...

That extension recommended by xpgeek, is a must to tweak it... instead of digging for the right ones in the about:config

In my Firefox Guide I have a .zip with three user.js files.

Neoufo51 of the Neowin, Laszlo and Cusser from the Mozillazine forums have put together 3 different user.js files that are optimized for Dial-up, DSL, and Cable. I'd recommend giving these a try. And don't forget to read. the readme first. (Download Here)

I'm fairly new to Firefox, but am now a dedicated user due to these great tweaks. I just had one question. Is it "safe" to run the Tweak Network Settings extension on top or alongside the tweak that supernove_00 posted?

Might be worth posting original values incase it goes wrong for someone.

correct me if i'm wrong, the original values are

network.http.max-connections: 24

network.http.max-connections-per-server: 8

network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy: 2

network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server: 4

network.http.pipelining: false

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests: 4

network.http.proxy.pipelining: false

Thanks for the tweak info DenS. I also have DSL and I noticed the difference. I tweaked all my computers at home :D

My default settings are slightly different that some of your default settings, I dunno why.

I clicked on default after I did the tweak, and this are my default settings
