Pink Floyd Veteran Posted November 16, 2004 Veteran Share Posted November 16, 2004 these settings are a must! here's mine for my 6mbps connection user_pref("network.http.max-connections", 128); user_pref("network.http.max-connections-per-server", 128); user_pref("network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server", 64); user_pref("network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy", 8); user_pref("network.http.pipelining", true); user_pref("network.http.pipelining.maxrequests", 30); user_pref("network.http.proxy.pipelining", true); user_pref("nglayout.initialpaint.delay", 0); Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/243907-faster-browsing-with-firefox/page/3/#findComment-584927148 Share on other sites
DELTA75329
WOW! This works wonders in Netscape 7.2! Thanks!! :woot: Now if only IE had something like this. Pestul
Hmm.. dsl version of a tweak someone posted has nglayout.initialpaint.delay of "750".. , but some have it set to "0". ninjakarl
is the network.http.proxy.keep-alive neccesary for someone with broadband it seems like it would be for keeping dialup connected. Caboose447
Here is my Firefox config values I played with.Tested with my 1.5mbit DSL connection. Not for dial-up users! To start: Open Firefox. Type "about:config" in the adress bar. Find these options, double click each one and change to below values: network.http.max-connections: 48 network.http.max-connections-per-server: 24 network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy: 12 network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server: 6 network.http.pipelining: true network.http.pipelining.maxrequests: 32 network.http.proxy.pipelining: true After changing the values just close Firefox and open it again. Enjoy your fast browsing! :p 584916006[/snapback] Thats awesome! Things load faster! I doubled your numbers for my 3Mb DSL and its great! Awesome! Thanks!
