reloaded2003
reloaded2003:Gorgeous monitor! And where did you get Longhorn? 585029517 Thanks, this is not Longhorn! It's Windows XP using the "RoyalMod" Visual Style. The sidebar I use is DesktopSidebar, a free skinnable sidebar that has lots of plug-ins and a big community... asdflkjsdrhthfhrhr
Widescreen is simply awesome. I love my laptop's widescreen. I got a 1920x1200 for cheap through HP. Lots of people complain that it's too "small"... Some text from further off than 3 feet is impossible to read, but that has its advantages in school :D

cq_
so is everyone able to get 1680x1050 resolutions using DVI?
acliff
Standard DVI supports up to 1920 x 1200 resolution I think... Which is why the apple 23" can run off a normal graphics card, and the 30" apple must be run off dual link DVI.

darkmark327
ummm, you dont know the whole story, ive had alreayd 3 1/2 weeks of delays with dell...only recently was the delay with DHL...but dell gave me the run around for a few weeks and ive probably been on hold alone for over 12 hours of total time....if you dont think thats insane, then go sit on a phone for 12 hours and see if you arent ****ed offluckily though, today i was only on hold for an hour and a half...im not calling them anymore, i did what i had to do, and dell today issued me 140 dollars of coupons to this monitor....so im getting it for WAY under 500 now (not going to say the exact price though...but its a steal) so yes, now im happy, now i just have to wait for the monitor, and hope there are no dead pixels on it when it gets here...if there are, i dont think im shipping it back for at least a month, i have an lcd with 2 dead pixels (black ones) and they honestly dont bother me 585034680 Well sorry to hear it but I've had nothing but good experiences with dell, I just ordered a Canon S410 on Tuesday night, had it in my hands Friday. Cyrana
Most newer cards can do 1680x1050 via DVI (and higher). However, my previous card (A GF4 Ti4600) could only do DVI at 1280x1024. So, if your card is near that age, I'd double check. :)

unimatrixzer0
Is there any way to hook this up to a hdtv cable box with the dvi to watch tv on it? I'm sure theres an obvious reason why a direct connection won't work, I just don't know it. Any kind of module or adapter needed? I know with some view sonic monitors you need to buy some kind of adapter module to ge hdtv on their screens. Thanks.

Everything worked except the picture was a little blurry but that was because i was watching regular tv not HDTV.
