Foxhound
Give me an about an hour and i can take a picture(have to recharge battery) but hopefully the flash wont get too much in the way because if i take it without the flash i get a picture that has a red tint to it. CRego3D
here are some images for you to compare A DVD Movie capture: http://nullmind.com/images/screenshot_08.jpg (notice the 2001FP ;) ) http://nullmind.com/images/screenshot_05.jpg http://nullmind.com/images/screenshot_02.jpg even with the loss of quality when saved as a JPG looks real good :/ Now, Digicam pics: Regular: http://nullmind.com/images/IMG_0190.JPG With MACRO ON: http://nullmind.com/images/IMG_0187.JPG http://nullmind.com/images/IMG_0188.JPG http://nullmind.com/images/IMG_0189.JPG Now, with MACRO ON you see pixelization, but that is the camera exposure, the monitors does NOT display liek that,, the colors and gradients are very smooth. But... What you see in macromode is what im seeing with my naked eye (Only a lot smaller) and on Light colours. Also, in the WMP High Definition video 'Striker' I see the gradiants and they are blocky as hell. Edited January 16, 2005 by hypoxiaicon
GothTeddy
Get on the phone to Dell in the morning and organise a replacement, then you'll be able to put the new one side-by-side with the old one, 'cause there's deffinately something not right with your monitor. If I don't hear anything I'll call again. Well it would not surprise me if I have a faulty monitor (Including the Dead Pixels and backlight bleeding) I mean, the day I got it my Logitech Z-5500 Digitals Packed up, my Creative Zen Micro had a huge line down it where the LCD Crystals had basically screwed up and gone dead and on all the time. My router, Netgear told me to do a FULL reset. Did that, Was stable for 2 and a half days, the day I get the monitor it resets its self and it has done it once more since (This afternoon) Sometimes I really do wonder why I bother. I really do have the worst luck.
ziphnor
Does the 2005FPW suffer from the same Screen door effect as the 2001FP(and other monitors using the same display) did?
Hypoxiaicon
I'm NOT 100% Im sure what screen door effect is (Just done a quick google) and id say MINE does have a major screen door effect

Ch3tan
Hi, Can anyone confirm how much image distortion or focus problems there are when using different resolutions, forcing 720p mode for example?
Hypoxiaicon
^ Depends if you run the monitor @ 1:1 Or Full. Full it will stretch and doesnt look that bad. 1:1 It just makes the image smaller and still remains perfect aspect ratio.
Frank
I FINALLY received mine and I am amazed. I had one stuck grey pixel but with just a little rub it disappeared. I have not adjusted my brightness at all and see very little backlight issues. I did not receive any software or documentation with the monitor. Does this normally come with the packaging? This will definitely take place of my dual CRT's at home. I thought I would need to get a second LCD, but I know now I will not.
Foxhound
There really aint that much documentation but you should of received a Dell disk with your drivers.

ziphnor
I'm NOT 100% Im sure what screen door effect is (Just done a quick google) and id say MINE does have a major screen door effect  585305415[/snapback] The screen door effect is shown off in this picture: http://www.iupload.net/062004/ds6.jpg It pretty much resembles what ive seen on a Dell 2001FP, ViewSonic VP201b(i think its called) and HP L2035(all using the same panel). Its not that big a deal, buts its pretty weird, and its not there on other 20" displays like the HP L2035. It might be specific to S-IPS displays, or it might just be that specific panel. Im considering trying the Dell 2001FP again anyway, since i think the 4:3 aspect is better for desktop work(i dont play games that much, only a spot of Rome:Total war, KOTOR and similar). However apart from the widescreen the specs of the 2005 are really great.... Why dont they have a 2005FP to go along with 2005FPW?
