foobah
crappy service here in the uk too, although bt did make a step in the right direction a few years ago, by laying fibre optic connections from newly build houses in some areas. naturally, they'll keep this quiet and milk the current connection speeds as much as possible, but it looks like we're slightly more prepared for fast connectivity than we think. thank god for my labs own uni connection :) hooray for .se's connections opening up more warez channels now though, people will have to wait 10 seconds, rather than a minute, to get their cracked PS now heh personally i'd rather be in .jp and get the 1G connections a few months later . . . Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/251091-1-gbps-for-swedish-home-users/page/6/#findComment-585593693 Share on other sites
Cyrilix
to the guy who pays 110usd for a 6mbps is gettin ripped man. up here in canada i get 5mpbs for 39.99 which is pretty good. the only downside is nex month they are implenting a cap at 60 gb down and up. 585593394 Hah, are you in Ottawa? That's what they're doing here for Rogers cable. ariad
damn, but at that connection they must have a BW cap on them to prevent warez servers or something, i dunno its just a guess. 585016695 Thats not how we do it here in Sweden :) Seriously, I havent seen any company offering broadband with caps or anything like that..  Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/251091-1-gbps-for-swedish-home-users/page/6/#findComment-585593845 Share on other sites
Radium
There is one ISP, that I know of, that have a cap. Bredbandsbolaget's 100Mbit service, 300GB per month, for about the same price as Labs2's 1Gbit. Other than that... I haven't heard of any limits. Argote
Holy **** i pay $349 pesos (like 30 dollars) for 256kb/128kb (down/up) and for ~90 euros you get 1mbps BTW, if Hard Drives can only write like 150mbps, wouldn't the Download speed be limited by the compuetr??? man you'd need like 8 Raptor drives in RAID 0 and a really nice uploader to get these speeds Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/251091-1-gbps-for-swedish-home-users/page/6/#findComment-585595236 Share on other sites
