Zul'Gurub is still guarded by the canibalistic Jungle trolls and thier holy order of Hakkari priests. some believe that the Nefarious Priests seek to bring thier ancient blood-god, Hakkar the soulflayer, back to life. Puportedly, the secrets to hakkars rebirth are kept safe within the crumbling troll city. However, none who have ventured into the savage land have ever returned to confirm these dark rumors.

Ahn'Qiraj

Night Elf tales abound of the Qiraji's strange hold over the insect like sillithid - and thier symbiotic link with the terrifying race. It's Become clear that the Qiraji are stirring once again behind the sand blasted walls of thier kingdom. the Sillithid have begun to amass in the southern regions of kalimdor. None know what vast evil might spew forth if the gates of Ahn'Qiraj were ever breached.

Rumors abound that Medivh's private laboratories and libraries hold the key to mysterious portals to the Twisting Nether. Those who have returned from the dark tower told of demonic horrors that roamed the upper floors. Though none now know who truely controlls the tower, it is clear that some evil force has taken up residence in Medivh's stead.

Other info: Karazhan is designed for a 5-man group of only the highest level players. it has a unique design made up of multiple sections, each of which will play as a separate dungeon, with at least 3 separate instance entrances.

Alterac Valley

The Frosty Peaks of Alterac Valley have been stained by the blood of warriors. The Windswept valley has been claimed by both the horde and the alliance. The Frostwolf orcs(warcheif thralls hereditary clan) have lived in the secluded valley for many decades, but their village has been threatened by the recent arrival of the dwarf expiditionary force led by General Vanndar Stormpike. The Dwarves, seeking the precious metal beneath the frosty earth, care little for the Orc's land claims. Now the forces of the horde and alliance spill onto the area daily - intent on retaking the valley for thier respective causes. However, unbeknownst to both factions, the Winteraxe Trolls have arisen to make thier own claim upon the frozen wasteland. Only time will tell which faction will have final domination.

Other Info: Alterac Valley with be the first Battleground instance, the primary focus is PvP combat and it is intended for players that are level 50 and up.

all i can say is ..omg....

Anyone know of any good UI customizations to download?

Played the game for a little over a month now (2 days 5 hour play time: level 20 undead warlock) and I have a few complaints:

1. It is so freaken hard to see what is going on and what you are doing in tight dungeon spots; especially if you have a party. Why doesn't the roof come off so we can get a better perspective on things? I hate the insta-zoom that happens when your character goes through a door. It is really annoying

2. The targeting system in this game sucks. The tab key should select the mob that is directly in front of you and in range of your spells or long range, even if the mob in front of me is further then the mob behind me! I don't know how many times i pressed tab and accidentally attacked a sheep that was behind me (or my pet did). It is really frustrating, and tabbing only works when the mob is pretty close, not within range (like it should be). Using your mouse to target in some areas is next to impossible (esp. tight dungeon spots). I wish there were portraits that showed up for every aggressive mob.

3. No weather system. Come on Blizzard! They have had decent weather systems in games for years now! The occasional rain or dust storm would be very welcome in this game.

4. No one in the towns say crap unless you have a quest. There are some games that take this overboard like Morrowind where everyone has something to say, and most of it is crap you don't have to read. But I still appreciate the time and effort to make a good story line around an area. This game seems just focused on "what do I need to kill next and where are they?" It?s an action character development game, not a role playing game.

Still, I really have enjoyed this game. Both my roommates are playing and it is fun partying with them to complete quests. The mob graphics are wonderful, and some of the cities are magnificent. The net code works really well too, it isn't at all jerky.

you need to do two things:

1) get cosmos: http://www.cosmosui.org/

2) use thottbot: http://www.thottbot.com

as for your complaints.....

1) i have never experienced any of the issues you are talking about. and i've done A LOT of dungeons....

2) targeting system isn't perfect... but it's not nearly as horrible as the one in SWG. just takes time time to get used to it i guess. tab should target the closest enemy

3) errrrr......

4) have u tried playing on a RP server?

Did a couple of quests in Blackrock Depths last night... There are groups of 5 52+ elites all over the place... almost makin me think you should have a raid party... Well I still have about 5 quests left in there and I know its going to be ruff.... By the way .. you seen that dragon in blasted lands called Teremus?? I seen like 12 lvl 60's try and kill it the other night.... after about 10 min... they gave up... lol... Any of you guys try and kill it yet??  :alien:

brd isn't all that bad, just need at least a mage to sheep one. if you can get a warlock to banish elementals it's very helpful also. the only part that is really tough is the lyceum (or whatever it is). i f'n hate that place. everything else is pretty easy if you know a few tricks

as for teremus the devourer. we kill him once and a while. 2 groups can do it pretty easy. it has an aoe lifetap type spell, so the more people you have close to him the harder he is. drops 4-5 flawless crystal thingies though, so he's worth $ to kill. each one can be turned in for a random blue item thats boe.

there are better dragons to kill though :p

if you ever get a chance to fight onyxia it's a great fight, very fun. easily the best encounter i've seen. mc isn't too bad, but it's very slow.

Thanks for the tips on the UI cust!!

1) the dungeons I'm complaining about are the ones with small rooms and low roofs. It is very difficult to see in them, and it wouldn't be to much of a programming hassle to have the roofs "dissapear" so I can zoom out a little bit more to get a good perspective. Not all dungeons suffer from this, but those that do really annoy me.

2) Ok..i think I'm getting better at it. If you kinda move towards the person you want to target when you press tab, it works better. It just bothers me when I accidently target the wrong mob that isn't even aggressive towards my group and I bring more guys in then we can handle. Then everyone blames me.. :( :( but i'm getting better at paying attention in large battles.

3) I guess i just find a lot of the landscape and open areas in this game kinda lacking. Some changing weather could add a lot! Even catching the occasional sunset or something would really add a lot to the immersion of the game. Still: the cities and dungeons in this game are spectacular the way they are.

4) No..i'll try one! :)

My Undead Warlock character is sooo cool. I'd argue that they are some of the best group members to have. After level 20 i can even summon people into a group. I've got 2 roommates that play as often as i do.. so with a group of 3 we can always get 2 more people to come along to do elite quests. Sooo much fun. I always hand out lesser healthstones to everyone and soulstone the tank or whoever is always dieing first. That and the imp spells are great! The imp is the best team player.

We were at shadowfang keep last night. Such a cool dungeon. Made it all the way to Argual and man was it an intense fight. Just before we almost killed him, he turned me into a warewolf and my groupies killed me!! I didn't complete the quest and now I have to go back through again! Man this game sucks the life out of me. but i like it.

NICE! I realized that Blackrock Spire was alot worse than Depths.. I still need that Flawless crystal too.. SO the best way to fight Teremus is to stay away from him and hit him?? And as for Onyxia... How do I get the quest and where? Im a lvl 57 about to be 58... Any info is appreciated.. Thanks man

the quest for the onyxia key starts in burning steppes, the first part is killing a bunch of dragonkin (some whelps, and 2 kinds of elites). then it takes you to brd for a bunch of parts.

then thre is a really cool part it stormwind, you escort a guy around town. if you do end up doin this part i suugest you read the story, it's pretty good.

then you goto winterspring and talk to some lady, she sends you to kill the general in upper spire (need a raid for this), then back to the lady in winterspring.

you'll probably need a group for pretty much all of it, and get used to brd, you'll have to go at least 4 times. not including failing the escort part, which lots of people do :(

BRD does not need a raid it can be done via a 5 man group. BRS can also be done via a 5 man group but it is a ton harder. UpperBRS is pure RAID though and it got crazy the first time I ever killed the orc lord in there talk about crazy stuff.

Nice staff LOC. A friend of mine was doing a brd run a few days ago and his guild mate found this on a drop Gift of the wild

I got it from him and sent it to my druid alt :) Now I just need book 2.

They didn't get nerfed, Blizzard fixed a BUG. Nerfing is a complete change in a skill or magic ability (or removal of said skill or ability totally)

Nerfing is not fixing a bug that allowed a class to take advantage of said bug, thus (for this patch at least) pallys haven't been nerfed.

Yet.

Have you guys read the class specific forums on Blizzard's site? What a bunch of whiny bitches. Seems like every counter to anything someone is complaining about how it isn't fair. Sure, there are probably some balancing issues, but I see this like most RPGs: it is like paper-rock-scissors. Seems like the warlock and warrior forums are the worse.

Still havin trouble in Blackrock Depths... What is a good party go to there with?? im a lvl 58 Druid now... I know its not the best class .. But its too late to turn back now... Should I wait until im a lvl 60? I wish druid had more DPS..  :alien:

Druids rock in PvP... they are the only class that can res in BATTLE :)

1. Rezzing in combat is quite hard, especially in a huge ass mob I'd imagine.

2. They have a what, 60 minute cool down on rezzing again?

3. That's where my l337 Priest comes in and saves the parteh :p

i've done brd with a few different groups. it depends on what part of the zone your trying to do. only really required class is a mage, 2 mages is even better . a sub spec'd rogue could fill in one of thoose spots i guess or a warlock. warlocks can banish the elementals too, which is handy.

if you ask about a certain problem you're having their i could give you a better answer though.

palidans and priests are better for rez'n in combat for pvp since they can jsut back off and not attack to get out of combat. much more effective then getting one rez every so often from the druid.

druids root on the other hand are handy for when people come forward into the range of mages / hunters :p

in pve druids are probably the handiest class around though. motw, heals, innerate (or whatever its called), battle rez, etc. you shouldn't be worried about damage, you'd do better helping your group stay around longer.

LOC, next time you pvp with your priest when the enemy bunches up and falls back (like they always do) shield fun forward into the middle of them and fear. you'll probbaly die but it's funny as hell.

The Newbie here! :-)

I got a Level 27 Paladin ( Very soon 28 ) and i'd like something for my head, a helmet or something.

I've seen Level 25-28 types of head bands and helms around, but don't know where to get them.

Can anyone help me here? I tried Thottbot but it isn't really that good!

You can either get them on certain quests... or do what everyone else does... Go to the Auction House. :alien::
