DirtyLarry Veteran Posted December 2, 2004 Veteran Share Posted December 2, 2004 (edited) What is the file called for the actual Main Menu Screen For CS:Source? And/or how can I get it back to the default screen? The only reason I ask is because I just installed some map pack from Fileplanet made by some place called punkassfraggers.com, and when you use their exe to install the maps, they actually overwrite the Main Menu background image with some horrible image they made themselves (see attached)     . I think they should at least let you know they do this. I have tried finding the file myself to no avail, so any help is appreciated. I would much rather have it back to the default original screen with just the 2 guys on it than this peice of dooky (mainly because there name is all over it) that they call a background image. EDIT - Also I did try to go into the forums on their website but you have to register to even look at them.     Punk Ass' Indeed. Also for the record, Yes I could have just uninstalled the maps and installed all 28 Maps with the appropriate resources into their appropriate folders accordingly, but just deleting this one file compared to trying to keep track of all those other files was a much less painless process. Also I figured it was good reference for the future in case this happens again. I was actually also curious as I am also now going to look into how one goes about making this .vtf files, as I have been known to do a little design here and there myself. ;) Thanks Again Flash. I know it is in essence a stupid thing to care about, but it bothered the hell out of me. As a result of all of this, I have tried to figure out how to make my own vtf files using the Source SDK. I am damn close, using a little app called vtex that comes with the SDK to do so (I had to set up a Mod and all of that in Hammer) but I keep getting the error message "Image Dimension Size must be Power of 2!" I am currently still investigating it all, and I am sure I will figure it out (custom menu screens here I come) but if anyone has any idea what this error means and what I do to resolve it, it would be mucho appreciated. If only I could figure out how to convert these .vtf files to a Targa so I could see what is wrong with my targa in photoshop I think that would help. I am really on a mission to figure this all out though. Wish me luck.
