Max Veteran Posted December 5, 2004 Veteran Share Posted December 5, 2004 it around ?80?any cheaper? and what are the advanteges of having a s939 processor? 585047698 ebuyer.co.uk seems to be the cheapest place. 939 has dual channel and its more futureproof. Infy
I would agree with AMD, the 3500+ is a better choice over the P4 as its better for when your gaming plus 64 bit so its better in the long term. AMD fanboy

Max Veteran Posted December 5, 2004 Veteran Share Posted December 5, 2004 Problem is all of my drives are IDE. And i dont wanna change my drives etc! 585047732 You don't have to change them.......you may not even have to reformat them - but it is advised that you do to avoid conflicts. Max Veteran Posted December 5, 2004 Veteran Share Posted December 5, 2004 ahhhh, cool. Thanks m8.Any chance of losing all my data? 585047781 You won't lose your data, but there is a chance that Windows will not boot. This is why it is good to have all of your data on a separate drive or partition.

altezza Veteran Posted December 5, 2004 Veteran Share Posted December 5, 2004 here we go again...The AMD 64 3400+ will out-benchmark the p4 3.2Ghz because of its architecture. Also your future proof for the future 64 bit OS's. If you can stretch out for a s939 system, more futureproof. Get a 3500+ with a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum :) dave164 585047387 It's true, even my 3200+ (754) outperformed P4 3.2ghz. If you going to use it for games then Athlon64 is the right choice. Argote
sokcet 939 mobos don't come as cheap as you want, anyways, even the S754 processor will beat the P4 so don;t worry, also if youre going to do gaming you might want to think about a graphics card, what do you have right now?
