I seriously cant see the photoshopped box everyone is talking about

Looks OK but Im a Q3A multiplayer fan so this game isnt really for me. They fu*ked Q3A by putting in that damn Punkbuster sh*t. I admit I have a copied game and key from a friend but I also know other people with their own copy that got banned from joining also....Damn iD......

Thats because gamers fail to update the pb html files, have them download pbweb.exe from punkbuster.com

and have the banned talk to the admin :/ ive never had a problem with Q3A

also if they cant find the pbweb.exe file, have them do this

bring down console by hitting the"~" key and type:

/pb_sv_enable

and then type this:

/pb_sv_update

Problems? problem solved

what the HELL?!

I am not the biggest fan of doom3, i put it down after a week or so, but come on, 4 years ago 95% of games didnt have bumpmapping, and lots didnt have even specular mapping.

Doom 3 was first presented (early version) with the GeForce 3 series revealing in 2000...

please for the love of everything good and holy would the fanboys shut the **** up!

quick note to the fanboys out there that keep saying that it should be made with the source engine - Thanks to your god Valve the Source engine is too costly for most game developers to use and still hold a budget on the game to make it worth playing, the only games you'll be seing that use the source engine that's worth a **** are going to be games under the thumb of Valve such as Sierra.

Now if we will look into the past... how many games spawned from HL1's engine ( which was the Quake2's engine in the 1st place ) Valve sucks as far as advancements, they don't like to play nicly with others.

Also WTF?! How does the Doom3 engine look like ass? It's a cinematic masterpeice, it's the same aspects and essence of what makes the face on Mars! Doom3's engine is equiped with a phanominal lighting engine that surpasses that of any game made to date... it's equiped with a physics engine that (even though wasn't used in the flagship game Doom3 but a few times) is more powerful than any physics engine available... and it's also fully modible and extremly versitile, so what's the problem? It looks plastic? hmm... last time I checked an engine isn't in control of the textures being used to mesh the models, as you shall see in the future usage of this engine.

</rant>

I think this is a really nice use of a good engine, I think Doom3 was a nice game but pretty damned shallow... I think this will well make up for Doom3's fallbacks. Raven have a history of well made games and seeing that they aren't having to spend the time developing an engine for the game, it's going to be a solid masterpeice. I expect to see the sales records shattered unlike ever before with this game... it having the time to make a phonominal stoyline singleplayer and also the action-packed multiplayer of Quake3, it just simply can't fail, lol.

All this though will bow and take a very large ###### directly in the ass when the Unreal3 engine starts being used. As close to perfection as it gets... which is something i've always expceted from Epic, and the amount of power you put into a game to give you what you see from Epics games extremly impress me aswell. All shall be good in the future when Epic is king and iD and Valve are doing it's bidding... muwahahahha

The screenshots look just like Doom 3. I don't like that engine. There was an article comparing Source and Doom engines a while back, and basically it said that if you wanted to render a CG movie, use Doom; if you wanted a game, use Source. But, to each his own. I for one won't be getting this game. I can't stand the plastic-ness of the Doom engine, and the darkness. It bugs me. I mean, comon, if you were in a deep-space station, there would be TONS of lights.

I saw these the other day and to put it bluntly I extremely unimpressed. They're so lifeless, fake and plastic. Baaaad.

Yeah, looks like people wrapped in that cling wrap you can wrap your sandwiches in. (N)

Won't bother with Quake IV - I don't have a 3.6GHz / 2GB RAM PC here.

To whoever says that they should use the Chronicles of Riddick engine, I am in disgust. That engine has extremely buggy shadows and textures that are nowhere near the quality of Doom 3. In Doom 3, every light projects a shadow, in Riddick, it is only the dominant light. In Riddick, there are seams in the textures and there are always the really awkward shadows in some places.

While the game is using the Doom engine, the PCGamer article that I read months ago (why necropost?) said it'll be a lot more action-packed.

Hopefully, you won't have the time to notice that everybody's covered in Saran Wrap before you obliterate them with your asskicking gun of choice.
