HDTV NFL blows away standard tv.. we just this week got NFL network in HD on adelphia it looks good, although all the old games are still in 4:3 because HD wasnt around back then, but the newer seasons on it are in 16:9 1080i HD and look awesome. watched the past 5 steelers games in 1080i HD, and it's so clear you can see peoples faces in the crowd that in standard definition would just be a blur

Yea I got the NFL Sunday Ticket with DirectTV and it is unreal watching those games in High Definition...It's kind of like your sitting right there in the stands or something. I heard thought that DirectTV is making a big push to have alot more channels in High Definition within the next few years. That will be nice :)

Early 2006, it will be the standard signal.

HD will never be the standard signal. No company has even begun to mention anything about HD being standard. Everything is supposed to be broadcasted "digitally" by 2006/2007, but then again the dates keep getting pushed back and back so who knows...we might not see it till late 2007 or even 2008. A digital signal in itself is still not 1080i so I hope you don't think all channels on TV are going to be HD...cause they won't be. For those of you who still have an old CRT incapable of displaying HDTV, don't worry as you'll still receive an analog signal.

well NBC one of the creators of the HD standard is stating it as the standard for all NBC programming by 2008... so at least one company is saying that

HDTV or not, Fox owns CBS all over the place.  I'd rather watch it in black and white TV on FOX than on CBS in HD

Yea, I have to agree.. CBS screws up every time they do a game. They need to hire some better people or something. Maybe NBC will outbid CBS next time.

when I watch football on CBS, it reminds how bad it was on NBC. I hope ESPN outbids them both and they show the AFC games and FOX shows the NFC games.

Yea.. as long as they get rid of Joe Theisman (or however you spell it) he's a dumb... But at least the crew around them do a great job. Those camera angles and graphics are the best bar none.. including ABC or Fox. I guess I have forgotten how bad NBC was, but with CBS doing the games, that's easy to do.

What? I dunno, but my CBS HD looks better than my FOX HD, no doubt. I actually can't stand FOX. I wish it was with John Madden and Al Michaels on ABC!

I also like the CBS guys better than the FOX guys too.

My second choice would be the Sunday night ESPN crew. I think they do a great job - I like Joe Theisman too  .
