lmao... sure... emulation is not illegal. But natrually you are going to be using the ROMS, which ARE illegal. I'm saying the concept of it is illegal, not the actually emulators. (NOONE will be using it for legit reasons... Open source projects would just be directly on the PSP)

id say it would b possible, but if sony allowed it, it would increase piracy of there own games... so its probly a bit harder to get it working off a mem stick

Didn't think of that. PS1 emulation would be possible too, Sony wouldn't be thrilled about that considering PS1 games STILL sell.

get your facts straight.

not all roms are illegal. There are tons of snes roms that have become free/legal to download.

Those are homebrew buddy, noone wants those. All the quality games that people would ACTUALLY emulate are illegal. If you like, email Nintendo. Tell them that you are interested in stealing games that they have worked hard on and emulating them on a competitors system. You won't find a nice response. :ninja:

There's no way in HELL that there's going to be a DS emulator for the PSP.

As for N64, I sincerely doubt it. MAYBE an SNES emu would be possible, from a technical standpoint, but then we're getting into the issue of how to load them on the system.

The ESA lets rom sites have popular roms for snes available for download as long as they are ok with them...

There's some nice homebrew snes roms I want to play

But seriously, I imagine Sony have locked down the ability to just play anything on the PSP but that "GAME" folder on the PSP has gotta be for PSP apps :ninja:

If they locked it down.............then we might just see the first ever handheld modchip...

ROMs are legal and illegal in some places. Example in some places you can download the ROM and keep/use it for 24 hours then delete it. Some places if you have the original game you are allowed to download the ROM of it. Other places they are perfectly legal. Besides Nintendo wouldnt really care much what you did with NES or SNES games as really it doesnt effect them as they're selling point of view isnt either at a risk of loss or a current position of gain.

If you care so much for Nintendo games... why not buy a Nintendo system that plays them instead of going to illegal acts?

I don't usualy post in kiddy based fourms like these but. I just have to warn about hoaxes.

Pictures of psp on the internet or playing games from another system are mearly video captures, then using simple to use video converting apps which do exsist.

I have a 512MB card and I can fit 2 hours of my own videos. I could video captuer all sorts of stuff and make it play back on the psp.

I have seen the homebrewed capabilities of the PS2, and it ain't much. There is a Snes emulator and other 16 bit emulators. But N64 is impossible on the PS2.

plus you need a modchip inorder for these apps to work. Hdd loader did not work for the ps2. No sense loading up a limited OS (most likely linux, but from my experiences with linux on the xbox, there is just no way the PS2 can ever run good emulators through linux.) because the over head of the OS would be too great.

The emulators like the ps2 emulators must be programed with the PSP SDK. The SDK for playstation is not the same as XDK. XDK is almost exactly like direct X SDK fro Windows. If you can make windows apps, then you can make xbox apps.

PSP is totaly diffrent. It will take a very dedicated person to make a half decent app for the psp while that same person can create a xbox app that runs 100%.

PSP may have emulators but it will be limited to 16-bit and lower, and like the PS2 it will not run at 100%, but 70 to 75% at the very most.
