Resident Evil 4

I don't know if it goes here, but I have a question.

what else I do with the Jewelerys I find?

I know I can sell it to the vendor, or fit it in other pieces with holes, but is that all I can do with them?

Yes. Unless if you want Leon to wear them and look blinging.

No, I was thinking of giving one to the ladies of this game. Give one to Ada or some other girl, and she will kiss me or something... Or another NPC, and I get a GREAT exchange not found at the vendor.

And, can you fit it in wrong pieces? Or, would the game tell me I am doing it wrong?

Everything you hated or nitpicked about in previous RE's have been taken out. No more sharing valuable item slots with puzzle artifacts. No more stupid ink ribbons, the game flows perfectly. RE4 is ground breaking, the style of gamepaly is fresh and original. When was the last time you played a game with tons of enemies crawling into six different windows of a two story house trying to destroy you? This game gets very very difficult. Im on chapter 3-3. Anyone who's worried if the game is challeging...worry no more. So far i havent had any "low ammo issues", like on the previous RE's. I never finished RE0 because of a lack of ammo...so annoying. Just when I thought Halflife 2 got the crown, I was wrong, HL2 is one of the best corridor shooters ever made no doubt about that. But after playing RE4, you realize HL2 is just a corridor shooter with a groundbreaking dynamics system. I would have to say RE4 is the best game out right now...period.  Its amazing how Capcom managed to raise the notch a bit more.

LOL I really like the NO MORE stupid ink ribbons one, that had to go!!!

I beat the game in 20 hours and wish it was a tad bit harder

It was not easy by any means, nor lack of weapons, or cool items. Those were plenty.

It DOESN'T need to be harder, it could be a tad bit longer, though

Like 10 chapters, instead of 5, but I guess 5 is worth $50

1 chapter worth $10!

I just beat the game today, boy it was good !!!!! I specially liked the part where you

fight Krauser and when you dodge the lasers

, I even went back to play it again just cause it was sooo cool.. Anyway, I still didn't understand some things, would appreciate if someone explained them to me, like

when Krauser says something about Umbrella and also mentions Wesker, what do they have to do with anything here ? Is he even in the game other than the mercenaries?

. If you do know about this, please PM me or post it here.

Also, is there a way to get a better ending? I found it to be a little dissapointing. ANyway, it was a great ride while it lasted, now I'm going to unlock all the special weapons and stuff.

Btw, my final stats were, if I recall correctly:

Play time: 18 hours give or take

Enemies killed: 896

Timess killed: 56

Agreed. Same problem here, still, PS2 owns :p

According to the specialized Japanese magazine CG World, the development team at Capcom that is working on the adaptation of Resident Evil 4 on PlayStation 2 is currently having difficulties in carrying out this task for several technical reasons, mainly because of the memory size allocated for textures is smaller for Sony's console, one works on 24 bit textures on GameCube whereas on PlayStation 2, one limits oneself to 4 or 8 bits.

Polygon comparison

- Leon (GameCube): approximately 10.000 polygons

- Leon (PlayStation 2): approximately 5000 polygons

- a villager (GameCube): between 3.000 and 4.000 polygons

- Solid Snake: approximately 4.000 polygons

One thus finds the problem of the number limited of polygons on PlayStation 2, this figure was divided by two for Leon for example in the GameCube passage towards PlayStation 2. GameCube is able to create 50% of polygons or more for all the characters over PlayStation 2.

I paraphrased a Babelfish translation of this Jeux France story

I finally broke down and bought this game... Matter of fact, I bought the GC just so I can play the Resident Evil series about two months ago... I already have PS2 and XBox and I just could not see me spending more money on a brand new game system... but once I started hearing about this game, I couldn't resist any more... By the time I get home, I should have it at the door (mail order)... I can't wait to get home... yeah!... :D

Oh its worth it for Resident Evil 4, the remakes (which look incredible), and RE: Zero. Plus you got a GameCube in time for when Zelda and Mario 128 comes out, which will probably be the two biggest releases then any of the three consoles have seen yet. Edited by jmole

Hey man, welcome to the GCN owners club ! ;) Please post here your experiences with the game, I would like to hear what you think of this great game.

  • 5 months later...
poop. someone has got to know who krauser is.

isn't there any re fanatic in here that has any idea?

could he maybe be from the books?

Krauser is Nicholai from RE3... sorta. My superiors at Capcom hinted, plus they look alike. See, I think he died, was brought back (somehow) and given a new name, then sent to spy on Leon at the training place. Then he faked his death and started working for Wesker, kinda like Ada, only she actually died, was ressurected, then began to repay the debt. I also know how Lisa from RE1GC got like that, how Wesker survived RE1, and alot of **** about upcoming games.

It's an amazing game. Still looking back the Gamecube was just plagued by lack of games which was a shame. The ones that came out (normally from Nintendo) were all quality titles, but it wasn't flooded with 3rd party support like the PS2 was.

This game is proof that it had the power to be the No1 console, just not the software :(

Mine still has pride of place, while my PS2 became an expensive DVD player till I sold it.
