stncttr908 Veteran Posted January 13, 2005 Veteran Share Posted January 13, 2005 New Guidelines What do you think about it? SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Saying it wanted to restore confidence in the game, baseball rolled out a tougher steroid-testing program Thursday that includes penalties for first-time offenders and random, year-round checks. I personally think it's a step in the right direction. If players feel that they will be publically fingered as "juicers" as part of the penalty (which would undoubedly happen with a suspension) then perhaps they would think twice. It still falls very short of the policies in place in other organizations, such as the Olympic committee, but it's a start. QuantumTrickery
The new policy is a joke. Its far to easy on the players, and you can guarantee the tests will easily be bypassed by not only the players, but the managers and owners as well. Its going to go like this: "Ok, you've been caught, here's a 10 day vacation" "what? Caught again? take a couple of weeks off this time." The policy either needs to allow the use of steroids, or to ban any player on the spot caught doing it. There is zero room for this middle ground garbage. At least they're recognizing it's a serious issue now. IlliniPi
I like the fact that they've changed the policy to year round drug testing. I feel that is a big step towards fixing a lot of problems. CatnipOligarchy
if you get caught, your season should be over. caught twice, you're gone. there is no room for steroids in the game at all. but this is a step in the right direction Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/270993-new-mlb-steriod-policy/#findComment-585293184 Share on other sites
