Definitive Home Theatre setup thread

Recommended Posts

Home theater has been my number one hobby for the past year. Finished up my first dedicated room right before I deployed using one of the spare bedrooms. Still needs some a few things done- new carpet, posters/signs, a new rack, acoustic room treatments and get the wires hidden.

At this point I would love to see the rest of the setup....TV and whatever else you may have... I have not heard of Rotel... but just a hunch that since I have not heard of it... its def Pro audio equip?

Rotel isnt "Pro gear", its Hi-Fi audio equipment not sold in big box retail chains.

ok... time to show off my stuff ;)

The TV is new (got it on Monday) and the A/V receiver is also new. We had a DVR box all the time, but just upgraded to HD service 'cause of the TV.

The remote on the couch is a Harmony 360 (see my review for this item here)

This is they way all men should watch TV/play games.. with stadium seating

Currently.. the component switch is not in use. I'm waiting to get my 2 HDMI cables, they'll replace the component cables from the reciver to the TV and from the cable box to the receiver. Then all the consoles will hook up to the switch.

I'll post another pic once I 'clean up' some cables

Almost everything is wired with Audioquest and MIT cables. Total cost of everything? Hmm....I can't say for sure but close to $30,000 I think. The speakers were the biggest purchase.
