Dell 2405FPW UltraSharp Flat Panel Monitor

Recommended Posts

The 2405FPW is built by BenQ. The same company which built the 2001FP. LG Built the 2005FPW which everyone hated. The backlight construction is very different between the 2005FPW and the 2405FPW. The 2005FPW had "CCFL (6) edgelight system" where as the 2405FPW has '6 CCFLs U-type'. (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp)

I personally just cannot see the point in such stupid widescreen monitors for a comp, unless your doing some very heavy gaming, or movie watching / editing etc.

That's just my opinion though, I'm still happy with my 17" Viewsonic. :D

im spoiled, when i first got my 2005fpw it was so big and wide, now its so small compared to the 2405fpw

I think you will have the same release date with the US or probably a week later, for the price I'm not sure about that.

The UltraSharp 2405FPW will be on sale for $1,199 in the Americas and Europe on March 1, 2005

I, for one, cannot wait. Luckily I ran into this site before making the purchase of the 20". To hear that the 24" was going to be a low priced as it is made up my mind for me in a hurry. I do not think I will have a problem running at native res with some eye candy either. I would ask that someone clarify one thing for me. Is it with a higher res you can turn down the AA?

System specs are:

P4 3.2 Prescott at the 14X multiplier and OC'ed to 3.8

Hyper 6 Cooler to keep the temp down on the CPU.

2 X 120 MM Fans - 1 Intake and 1 Exhaust

2 X 90 MM Fans - 1 Intake and 1 Exhaust

1G PC4300 Kingston Memory

ASUS P4C800E Deluxe MoBo

2 X 160G SATA Drives

ATI X800XT PE (My Baby)

patience is a virtue mate :)

True, but when it comes to computers, new products are announced that are so tempting and you wait and wait for it and buy it when it comes out and the next day they announce something even better.
