mpeg layer 3 codec

Question

Alright so here's the deal.

I'm running Adobe Premiere in XP, and i want to output my nicely made movie to divx with mp3 audio. Now i'm able to get the divx codec working for the video, but i don't have the mpeg layer 3 codec i once did in win98.

So whats the deal? Where is it, or where can i d/l it and install it?

Or is that what those 3rd party packs for?

please someone help me, its really important.

thanx

i think i might have phrased it wrong.

I got the divx part all good to go. What i can't do is get the audio to be in mp3 form since it is not in my codec list, get it?

in win98 and win2k it was there, but in XP it is not (i'm guessing thats the whole 3rd party software to come out on oct. 25th).

So i'm not sure whats going on, i really need the audio to be in mp3.

:ermm:

The Fraunhofer MP3 codec is shipped with WinXP; however, it's encoding ability is "limited" to 56-kbps. Until the MP3 packs are released (circa Oct. 25th), the Radium MP3 codec is the only alternative. Download here.

Note: The Radium MP3 codec is a "hacked" version of the Fraunhofer codec, so use it at your own risk!
